I was wondering if anyone has ever thought of getting a playstations system from each month. im kinda thinking about doing it myself but then i relised that it would probably mean i would have to get close to 100 systems. well if you've ever done this or thought about it let me know.

I am confused. Why would you do this? To throw good money away?

I don't know what you mean by getting one for each month. Are you talking about the different variations of the system, such as the original PlayStation system, the Net Yaroze, and the compact-sized PSone? Or do you mean buying the same system each month for some reason?

Yeah, I'm confused. I would assume it it's a version of every PSX there is. But there really are a lot of those.

There are the really early ones with the Parallel port and the separate RCA Jacks. Then the ones with the new A/V connector and the Parallel port. Then at one point they dropped the Parallel port. Then there are small changes later on. And on and on. There are too many. Sony changes the systems so often. Same with the PS2's. Go ahead and try to collect them all, even if all of them look the same on the outside. Good luck. LOL

At $30 a pop.. well, $20 now, I can't afford to just pick up PSX after PSX every week. I haveo ne PSX right now. A Parallel port one. And it works fine for what I need it to do.. play games. Eventually, I will pick up a PSOne to replace it, and I miught retire it that day. But I probably won't start gathering up PSX's until they've been dead for a while.. which will be a while. DAMN YOU, SONY! KILL THE FUCKING PLAYSTATION ALREADY!

...

*cough*

So anyway...

You want to buy a single Playstation from every single month of its production?

WHY?

If you wanna throw money away just send it to me :P

There are more than enough games to worry about for the PS1 - never mind the probably 20 or 30 unique variants of the console itself.

It was so much simpler when the choice was more like "toaster or top-loader", "six-switch or Vader"...

I agree. Collecting games is one thing but copy after copy of the same console? Talk about a useless collection...that's just weird. I do have a 2nd console of some systems but that's more for having a backup if one fails, not because I feel I should start collecting every Dreamcast (or SNES or Jaguar or whatever) that I come across... -_-

Hell, why stop at one per month? A real completist would get one from each production line from each day they were made
In fact, why not try to collect every single Playstation that Sony ever manufactured? LOL

Yeah, that makes just as much sense as one from every month. Waste of money, time, space, etc etc. I'm not trying to stop you if you do, I'll just sit on the sidelines and snicker...while eating a snickers.

You can have my PlayStation when you pry it from my cold dead fingers... or give me $30. I'm easy.

I don't know... considering all the Playstations that have failed in the past ten years, getting one from every month the system was in production isn't an unreasonable goal. Just pick up a bunch of dead systems at next to nothing (game stores across the country are sure to have them), sort them by date, and there you go.
