Not rare at all I'll give you $5 for the pair right now! Don't listen to the guy who tells you that is one of the rarest NES releases....

*points to the link above your post that says "Rarity guide"*

(:

R8 at $150 isn't too shaby.

Most definitely. And that's just for a loose version. It looks like there is at least one complete in that picture.

When I searched the database, I turned up two versions, one estimated at $90 and the other at $150. The only difference in the descriptions was that one included the words "and Italy" and the other did not. :hmm:

Wow!

Two Rodland !

They are indeed rare (R8) because they was :

1- Never released in the US.

2- Only a small number of copies was sold in some european countries.

Isn't this one of those games that goes for ~$300-400 on eBay?

Wow! Great find there. But what the heck kind of game is Rod Land? The name scares me. LOL

So then basically you already really knew what they were worth and just wanted to brag. Nothing really wrong with that I guess since it was a nice find but why not be up front about it?

BTW, where did you find them and how much did you pay?

mh i'm confused, yes, it seems pretty obvious this game is hard to find from an us-point-of-view, but i really don't think it should get an R8, i'm pretty sure it's not THAT hard to find here in europe...

It seems to be pretty difficult to find on any format (except maybe the Amiga! although not easy!!). But as far as I'm aware it is pretty much gold dust on the NES especially boxed :-P This is one of the most under-rated games I know - it's just such a cool wee puzzley-platformer - I absolutely loved it on my A500 Plus :D

I,ve heard that they are rare. But i wanted to know what they are worth. But I,ve found them here in the netherlands. One in the local gameshop and one on a fleemarket. yes the game is real fun to play. Looks like an old arcade game.

yeah, actually i'm pretty sure this game was released in whole europe except of germany (in other words, in the uk, holland, france, spain and perhaps italy)

the fact you've found 2 of them in the wild in holland is a clear indication to me that the R8 is too high

man, next time i'm in the netherlands (that's in august) i'll have to go check out some fleas, seems as if some games are quite easy to find there :)

do you know of any good fleas, especially in the "Veluwe"-region, i'm there most of the time, but i'm also in "Zuid-Holland" for a while

The two versions that i have are from spain. because the one boxed is spanisch it says nintendo madrid and the loose one is also from spain because the code on the cardidge ends with "esp" I dont think it have been in holland then this game. But you never know.

Anyone care to explain why there's two NES entries for it in the online guide? :P

Anyhow, Spain is the main country it was released in, which explains the box and manual here...

yeah i was about asking that too, a double entry O_O

yeah spanish games in the netherlands are a topic that's still in the dark, you know, from my experiences (ebay and a lot of holidays in holland) i have the feeling that somehow a lot of spanish games are/were available in holland but i have no idea why, maybe i'm wrong, but there must be a story behind this fact...

I know pretty sure that there was a spanish NES box here in Holland, with a sticker that says including dutch manual. Perhaps some paralel (is that correct english? :)) import?

Does Rodland exist in any variation other than -ESP?
Around a third of my NES games are French (-FRA) versions, but they've all been found in the wild in the UK, which perhaps suggests that cross-European imports weren't that uncommon.

yeah, seems so, i don't know of a Rodland box not having -ESP, but who knows ;)

Rodland was only released in Spain and Italy (it's been on eBay). I've seen it go for around $300 on eBay.

Of course there can be parallel imports, that happened with more games.

Everyone's talking about the game's rarity, but I feel it's just as important to point out that Rodland is fun to play. It's no Bubble Bobble, but it's a good game in its own right.
