Hey all you Odyssey 2, owners--could one you answer a humble question?

What are the specs on an O2 power supply?

Over at the wonderful vidgame.net I learned:

Output: 11.5VAC 400mA
Input: 115VAC 60Hz 12W

However, I don't know what the polarity of the tip is. Could someone please tell me if its negative or positive? Thanks! I appreicate it.

Everything you ever needed to know about this can be found right here:

The Odyssey 2 Homepage (http://www.classicgaming.com/o2home/)

I'm pretty sure the power supply specs are on there. There are also A/V mod instructions, RF cord swap instructions, and everything short of how to get the Voice to belt it like Sinatra. :D

Hey, I recognize that site! ;)

Actually, I'm not certain of the polarity that original O2 supplies used, but I do know that it shouldn't matter. I have it on good authority that O2 consoles contain an internal bridge rectifier that regulates things like voltage and polarity. So you should be able use a supply that's off by a few volts or the "wrong" polarity without frying the machine.

If your O2 has a barrel-shaped input jack (female & round with a little metal peg in the middle), you can use an NES supply. It's what I use. If it's female but without the peg, I believe you can use an Atari 2600 supply. Both are more common that stock O2 supplies.
