This may have already been posted somewhere and if so the mods can lock this. I was in my local EBGames today and the guy told me that they have a deal where you trade in an original GBA (not SP) and two games and you can buy a GBA SP for $49.99. So I'm using this deal to buy a classic NES GBA SP by trading in my old indigo GBA and two games; Madden 2002 and Gekido. Two horrible games and and my old GBA for $50!!!

The other thing was that the guy told me that he is expecting the classic NES stuff to arrive at the store by tommorow of Friday instead of next Tuesday.

i went into EB with a coupon from their magazine GMR that gets you a GBA NES for $40 when you trade in a GBA SP. It turns out that you had to pre-order (before 6/1) for that price. I ended up trading in the GBA SP (that was all scratched up and working - I got it for free!) for $40, and got the GBA SP NES for $59.99.

I wish they had better fine print on that damn coupon - I've been holding on to it for a couple of weeks, and I would have preordered it. Oh well...

Geez, they only give $40 for a gba sp? Gamerush needs to be nationwide, heh.

I checked on the non SP trade in, $30. That seems more generous than the $40 for the SP. I'll have to bring in the extra GBAs that I have...

Thats a good deal and everything, but there's no way I would trade away my GBA SP. I'm talking about trading in a normal non-SP GBA with two games for $50 which I whink is much better. I'm still keeping my black GBA SP as my normal everyday gameboy that I'll take with me places and whatnot, and the NES version will be something that I'll keep here at home so it stays nice and minty.

I stopped at a Game Crazy store today and they had 5 classic NES GBA SP in. Three of them were reserved. I saw a flyer with a similiar trade-in but I didn't read the fine print.

I got mine today from ebgames.com. I was totally surprised when I saw the FedEx box -- I had no idea what it was.

Anyway, the SP looks very nice, I don't think it will disappoint. The top is a light gray, with a darker gray used for the bottom shell. On the cover, there is a a column of dark gray stripes which are painted on. It is on the right hand side of the unit, but isn't indented plastic like some of us thought.

The inside is not a sticker, it is made of a textured plastic that feels nice.

Thanks for the info. I didnt think that they were going to go to such lengths to make it look cool, i.e. the two different shades of grey and the stripes on top. I am definitely more exited now about getting it. Damnit why hasnt ebgames called me yet?!?!?

The Gamecrazy trade-in deal is slightly better. Just your old GBA SP and $50 nets you the new NES GBA SP. No games required. Still, the new GBA SP is cool and all, but essentially, you're paying THEM to get the same thing with a different cover. No thanks. I have a "collectable" one anyways--the lime green one. There will be fewer of these than the NES ones. Count on it.

I traded in my original GBA (NOT SP) plus 2 games that are so bad that they have a trade in value of 50 cents each and I got a NES GBA SP for $50. Thats a great deal because the old GBA is worthless compared to an SP. I would never sell either of my SP's for $50. So how is it that the Game Crazy deal is better??

Whoops. Didn't realize the EB deal was just the old original GBA + two games. Better deal, for sure, as long as its those crappy games as you said.

NES SP vs. Old GBA... no contest.
