While I am playing NBA jams the screen goes black and there's always numbers on the screen. It says report this to Iguana...

Any idea why this is happening? Is it the system or the game?

I just got the game and it was a loose cart in kind of bad shape.... so I figure it's the game and not the system, but I also figured that people you would know a lot more about it then me.

Any help would be appreciated

whoa

Maybe the cart connectors are starting to go? The only viable explanations are that the cart is damaged in some fashion (or the console's connectors, for that matter) or you don't have a normal cart, which I'd bet against.

Odd, almost sounds like a debug function.

I guess there's the remote chance it's a proto, or possibly just dirty connectors triggering latent code in the game.

You should have taken a picture of this.

I've got an NBA Jam on the Genesis. It gets pretty glitchy on my model 2 (the only game that does) but it works perfectly well on my model 1. My cart is totally clean and the cart itself seems to be more cheaply built than most of my other Genesis games.

That's odd...reminds me of some version of Mortal Kombat (III, I think) that sorta didn't work and only displayed a debug screen or code screen or something. Some dipshits used to try to sell them on Ebay as protos. Could just be a bad copy of the game, just like those MK carts...

Yes, my first NBA Jam cart for Genesis started doing that(which was the main reason I upgraded to TE). I've tryed the cart on a Genesis 1 and 2, and I still get the same error as you.

I would have taken a picture, but my pops took my camera and lost it. The new one is still in the mail. Glad to hear it's a cart problem and not a genesis problem. If it happens again I will take a snap shot (if my camera is here by then) just to do it. I played one game of jams today and nothing happend. Weird...

thanks for the info!
