Mario vs. DK is a great game, and I'm really enjoying going for stars and high scores! I've uploaded a chart there with my current high scores! How's everyone else doing? Feel free to rip my chart html and insert your own scores. Just a little friendly competition in this great game!

BTW, if you saved that as a .txt document, open it and do a File, Save As.. then if you put like "mario.html" (quotes and all) in the save box instead of just mario.txt, it'll automatically save it as an HTML doc for you. You probably already know that, but for anyone that doesn't, that's helpful! :D

Anyone find this a violent game for Mario? He falls in fire and flames surround him. Also he gets flattened like a pancake. Not that I don't think it's cool, but Mario dying has come a long way from just falling off the screen.

I think he died all the same ways too in the first GB Donkey Kong as well.

What does the plus levels look and play like?

I'm still trying to get all the stars in the 4th level. Level 4-3 is driving me crazy.

4-3 is the hardest level in the entire game to get a star on... period.

if you want a walkthrough, come and visit us in vbender, and i'll walk you through it =)

anyway... the plus levels are a bit different in play. there's the same 6 worlds, but this time each level only has one part instead of two, and you have to find a mini mario (who has a key), and get him and yourself safely to the locked door. mixes things up a bit.

Well since everyone keeps going on about how cool this game is I decided to surprise my boyfriend and buy it for him (he loves Mario games).

Ended up getting it from Circut City (who had an entire shelf full of copies) because EB tried to sell me a display copy (ugh...).

Anyway, he loves it so I just wanted to thank everyone that's been raving about it (mainly Perkar :P).

Holy crap 4-3 is hard. It took me about 25 minutes to get the damn star on that one alone. After I complete the first part of the game, I'll make my chart. Right now I'm refining my skills on the earlier levels to give Perkar a run for his money. ;)

@Wizdawg: Yea, if you need help on MvDK, Perkar or I will gladly help.

Alright I got past level 4-3 last week. I'm into the plus worlds now but I'm stuck at 3-4+. It's the level where the toy Mario keeps jumping on the spring instead of falling down and getting the red box and to the door. Can someone help me out here?

Another thing is bothering me also. Maybe someone can explain this to me. I have a total of 62/65 stars. I did not get stars for levels 4-DK and 6-DK even though I got the high score(I haven't beaten the high score on level 5-DK). I did not beat the level my first try, is this why? Anyone else experience this happening? This really bothers me because I would like to get all the stars!

Disregard my 3-4+ question. I went to the nintendo.com forums and someone posted the answer. :) I still would like to know the deal with not getting the stars. :angry:

Well I just completed the game. 100% complete with all stars and expert levels done. I'll update my chart when I stop being lazy. Excellent game. :)

Ok I figured out what I was doing wrong. To get a star in the DK levels you must have all 6 mini marios and not get hit at all. If you die when fighting DK or start over you start with only 4 mini marios. You have to go back a level and complete it to get the 6.

Ok now I'm happy and can get some peacefull sleep. -_-
