I think it was named pirates cove, Is this game out there emulated, I'm sure it is, also what is a good vic-20 emulator? Or is there a versoin that I dont need an emulator? I used to spend hours playing that game, damm mongoose that turns out to be a squiral when you drop it in the snake pit, I think thats as far as I have gotten building the ship in the lagoon and going to where it goes. Think i need to play this again, but my vic's keyboard is not working to good( not all letters work or space) you have to really hit them. Any info would be great!
Thanks
Dan

Vice emulates the Vic-20 and can be found in the emulators section of this site. It's under c64 emulators. Yes, there are roms for the vic-20 out there, not sure where to get them anymore, and I lost mine awhile back. Can anyone help?

Ward's Vic20 site should carry most if not all of them...

I found some games i used to play, but i can not get them to run. Anyone with vice knowledge give me a little step by on this. I tryed auto load, Attach image, I even tryed typing sys 32592 to get it to run and it just goes to a ready prompt. Anyone?

Would this be a good time to mention that I've got a complete VIC-20 up for sale in the Buying and Selling forum, including that very game?

Scott Adams' adventures are 16K and load/attach at hex $4000, unlike most other cartridges (which go at $6000 or $A000). Here is a text I wrote many years ago how to play the game from RAM:

If it is just the Scott Adams game you want I have all of them with a Windows interpreter... alltogther it's about 512k...

If fact one of my prized gaming collectables is an Original Official Scott Adams Adventures Hint book...

Yeha, I had that game back in the day. I think it's still in my parent's attic. I will have to dig that stuff out on the next visit.

I didn't like Pirates' Cove as much as Adventureland because there were really only two treasures available right at the very end instead of a few treasures that you could acquire over the whole course of the game.

I learned how to type on those games.

WOW I think this is one of the first topics I ever created.

Was looking through the list of messages on the board and saw a question about pirates cove and was like Wow I used to love that game. Then looked it posted it and it was me. Weird.

none of those text adventures touched Zork but the fact that they are on carts and need a special way to load them is one of the main reasons I keep my VIC20 from collecting dust. Plus everyone had a C64 C128 so people get a kick out of the PET or Vic20.
