First is the rather astounding mod for Unreal Tournament 2K4 you might've heard of called Alien Swarm (http://www.blackcatgames.com/swarm/). Think Alien Syndrome, take away the lighting, and add modern graphics. Well, it's really just a Super Smash TV or Crimson Land style game in corridors, but that's good too. Has strategy, if that counts. Highly praised by the makers of Unreal Tournament 2K4, too!
Next up is a link recommended by Seppuku of GameSpy Forums, a Japanese on-rails shooter:
http://gamepage.hp.infoseek.co.jp/ (don't gimme none of that "can't read hyroglyphics" jibbajabba, sees you where it says DOWNLOAD)
Finally is a review of a game which, as I've explained a couple other places, I ran across trying to find out if it was indeed the NEC PC-8801 which had that flickscreen SMB (for the most rereleased games thread). I couldn't resist reading it. Check out the screenshots; this actually looks really good. Review for Briganty: The Roots of Darkness (http://www.densetsu.com/display.php?id=40). It's a "H-ARPG," which is something I wouldn't have expected to see. Amazingly, all the screenshots are clean. Woei!
