Most time spent on a game?

Forgive me if this has been asked before, but I did a search and could'nt find anything.

What's the most time you've spent on a single game?

I realized today that I had just broken my old limit when I became a Level 18 EA Gamer on NCAA Football 2004 for my GC. To get to that point, you have to play for six days. That's SIX DAYS of game time playing football.

In other words, about 144 hours. All during about a six month time span. :eek 2:

My OLD record was Final Fantasy Tactics for the PSX -- I used the suggested levels in the Prima guide for going through the game, and between that and taking all the time to explore all the optional stuff, I logged in 110 hours by the time I was done.

But even football surprised me. I must be a football nut allright. LOL

(Yeah, I'd say I'd got my $40 worth that I spent on the game used back in October. ;) )

Between Animal Crossing and Doubutsu no Mori E+, I've spent at least a few hundred hours... it will be much worse when AC comes out on the DS because then I can play AC at school :D

I'm sure the record belongs to GTA: Vice City on my PS2. I'm guessing that previous recordholders were Gran Turismo 2, Gran Turismo 3 A-spec, The Sims for PS2, Final Fantasy III, and SimCity for SNES.

It's somewhat embarassing that I spent a good 183 hours on pokemon ruby. I was determined to "Catch em all" without the use of a gameshark. Thusly, I did. I'm so proud of myself! LOL

77 hours into Disgaea. Tried leveling my guys super high and pretty much quit, so I wasted about 30 hours. But the most probably goes to that cursed game counter strike. It will forever have taken out a good chunk of my life.

For me, the most game hours logged on one game would have to be Ocarina of Time. I spent months when it came out in '98 playing it til my fingers hurt, trying to get everything in the game. Then when the special edition GC disc came out with all the Zelda's on it, it rekindled my flame with the game. So don't know the exact hours but know it's alot.

For a sports type game it would have to be pretty much the whole Mario Kart series. I would say I spent more time play MK64 than the other 2, but sometimes would spend with my brother and neighbor like 3-5 hours sraight playing one game.

Diablo 2- probably around 600 hours

Socom- over 4.5k hours (i was ranked 20th in the country, which was based on how much you played basicaly. I played it for about 1.2 years, at about 10 hours mon-tru and about 15 hours fri-sat. I logged in over 4.5k hours on socom. it being 14 and 15 years old at the time of my excessive playing caused me to fail math class in 10th grade making it my first ever time in suymmer school. (being ranked #20 in the country comes w/ a price) so as a result when socom 2 rolled around i limited my play time greatly. socom 2 has been out since 11/4/04 and i only have 320+ hours in the game)

Final fantasy xi- i recently quit the game over a week ago, but on the ps2 version i logged in over 450 hours into the game.

smash bros (n64)- between my constant playing w/ friends and trying to up my skills probably about 150 hours

smash bros melee- about 200 hours

Mine as well. Been playing it for the past 4 years, home and arcade. I couldn't say the hours exactly. The hour counter at home just rolled over to 99:99, because I rarely save after I play it through once, which I do once per day. I've easily spent enough to buy the machine brand new by now at the arcade.

If I was going to give an hour count, 2000 would be close enough, 3000 max.. (2000/4 = 500/year = 500/52 = ~10 hours/week on average. Entirely possibly. There were days where I'd be at the arcade for 8 hours at a clip.

Oddly enough for me the most time put in a game is on the PC. I played Battlefield 1942 from the day it was released until Battlefield Vietnam was recently released (A little over a year). I Never missed a day and on average played it 2-5 hours everyday. We will have to see if BFV holds up as well.

Console wise PIRATES! would get the nod since I have played it on amost every system it came out on.

I can't begin to estimate but I'm sure it's over 2k. Every night I played Counter Strike my Junior and Senior year with my 5 roomates. We had a sweet setup in the basement. Man did I take that for granted. I will never have that sweet of a setup with that many gamers available at the same time. Yeah you can play online but its not the same as having a LAN party everynight!

With some games it's hard to tell. Goodness knows I've spent TONS of hours playing SMB 1, 2, and 3 over the course of my life. Back when I was obsessed with Chrono Trigger, I replayed that over and over and over. At around 20 hours a game, it adds up. However, I will give the time-consuming crown to the Star Ocean series:

Star Ocean: 100+ hours (around 150, I believe)
Star Ocean 2: 200+ hours (not too much above 200, I think)
Star Ocean Blue Sphere: 100+ hours (not much beyond 100)
Star Ocean 3: 200+ hours (around 250)

And, of course, it only goes up and up, as I'm constantly playing all of them. I've yet to "finish" any of them. There's still tons more to do.

Pokemon: Blue, Well over 100 hours trying to "catch 'em all!" Atleast I got all 151 in the end...

Pokemon: Silver, 155 hours, I had almost all of them, without cheating/using a guide... What a waste of time those stupid games were, atleast I had fun I guess.

GTA3, I don't have any way to track how many hours I've spent with this(since the game doesn't have a counter). But I know for sure that between both the PS2/Xbox versions I have spent ATLEAST 500 hours, and I'm sitll playing! Like for example, last Summer alone I played the game everyday for atleast 4 hours.

GTA:VC, Between the PS2/Xbox(and soon PC) versions, I have spent a couple hundred hours. I will probably shatter my record for GTA3 by the end of the Summer though.

Super Mario 64, It was the first real 3D game that I got so of course I sucked at it and I was only 7. So with out looking at any guides, I spent about 1 or 2 hours for a full year to get all 120 stars.

Beat Final Fantasy 3 about 6 or 7 times...logged thousands of hours into the Tony Hawk series since the first one cost $50 new. Of course, if you average it out, I've played DDR at least an hour a day for the past 2 years. IIDX 1 1/2 years. Pop'n 1 year.

I've probably sunk a good chunk of my life into Super Punch-Out and various puzzle games as well.

Ah yes... DDR is the great time consumer. I can't even begin to imagine the amount of arcade time spent playing it.

As for console games, PSO V1 for the Dreamcast is my time hog. I played that game hardcore for about a year and logged a good 1200 hours on it.

Pokemon might be the highest for me, too - at least the highest one that keeps a record.

Red was around 138 hours to get all 151 pokemon. I'm currently going through Silver and am at 88 hrs; my dex is only at 125. I'm trying to breed the r0><0r moves onto some Pokemon.

I've spent a lot of time on Starcraft, Age of Empires II, Warcraft III, and those sorts of games, though. Probably not 138+ hrs yet.

Like alot of people have been saying. Street fighter and FFtactics for me. Also chrono trigger, I got all the endings and max out everyone's stats (twice in fact). Grant the game is short, but it also takes a long time to reach level 99.

I have the same game save on my Zelda 2 NES cartridge since it first came out. I hadn't played in years either until I pulled it out about 2 years ago from my grandmas house. She had a bunch of complete NES games in a box and I was pleased to say the least. I still haven't beaten it, it's such a pain in the ass the AoL, someday I am sure I will beat it though.

Pokemon Blue: 118 hours I believe BEFORE my save got raped by a "friend" then I played through it again most likey.

Super Smash Bros. Melee: 50 hours or so
Marvel Vs. Capcom 2: A minimum of 45 at home and in the arcade total. I even had a backup (NO BAN PLZ) and had all the characters then I STILL bought a legit copy. I love it so dearly.

I believe that the longest I have spent playing one video game would be around 90 hours on a SINGLE file of Final Fantasy VII. TOTAL however, I would say somewhere between 200-300 hours on that game. What a great game LOL

Hmmm, it would probably have to be High Heat Baseball 2004 for the Playstation 2. I played through all 162 games in a franchise mode and was well into a second season before I stopped playing.

I've also logged serious time into Tecmo Super Bowl and NES Open Golf.

Ace Combat 4- I've played the crap out of this game, just replaying my favorite missions and unlocking all the planes and such.

Diablo II Expansion pack. I played so much online it was adictive! My highest character was a level 92 on the hardcore ladder USeast. I got TPPKed the other month and said (#*)@*# it. The hacks on battle.net mess the games up and make gamers like me walk away. I know I pured at least 100hrs into that character to watch it die unlegit. Of course I've made other characters here and there over the years, but in total I'd estimate well over 800hrs on the game. Ya, you can rack up time easily over the course of a few years off and on.

And then I played Starcraft. I had over 1800 wins and under 100 losses/disconnects, so I'd say there was a good 350hrs @ 10 minutes a game, to 1500hrs if the average was 45 minutes/game. Good waste of time in high school.
