So I finally ordered Comcast Digital Cable (Northern NJ). The guy is coming out on Friday to hook it up. I will now have the G4 channel. Is there anything worth watching on G4?

Icons is a good show, and Filter isn't a complete waste of programming. Of course there's always Starcade, if they're still showing it.

Most of the other stuff is crap, IMO. I dunno what the merger is gonna do since I've never seen Tech TV (only available in the premium bracket of cable). Anyone?

Icons is a really good show, basically it's a show that goes into the history of a particular topic for that episode. Pretty cool show.

G4tv.com is an interesting show, in it's essence, it's a show where the hosts interact with people on the g4 forum and chat room and talk about game news, interview guests, interesting stuff like that. It sounds lame, but the show is pretty entertaining.

Pulse is your requisite gaming news program, though most people seem to prefer g4tv.com for that, Pulse tends to cover more stuff.

Cinematech is kinda weird, it's basically a program that shows off FMV sequecnes from various games.

And of cours, you've got your Techtv refugees...Screen Savers, Fresh Gear, X-Play, Anime Unleashed are all pretty neat shows to watch.

Icons.

That's it--take it from a TechTV and G4 viewer for 2 years. I'd try out the shows for myself first, but mostly, they are about Sony and Microsoft fanboys.

My satellite company doesn't carry the channel, but check the website for listings.

Your satellite provider doesn't carry G4TechTV (as it's now known)?

I'm still hesitating about adding the Canadian G4TechTV on my digital cable lineup... I'm not even sure what channel to bump for that... maybe ESPN Classic Canada?

No, that channel is full of crap and an insult to gamers. Judgement day is probably the most pathetic show on the channel. Do yourself a favor and don't watch it.

X play is ok. The host can be kind of corny though.

Arena can be cool. It pits 2 teams of 4 against each other in 3 games. The team that wins moves on to the next show.

G$ is just about the ultimate nerd channel. All they need is a couple people to perform some Professor Frink impressions. What's the point?

Of course, it could be worse. You could be watching Fox News.

Anything without Tommy Tallarico on it. That makes, hmm, about three shows.

Seriously, though, you should tune in to Icons (video game documentaries, the way they should be made), Pulse (an equally outstanding gaming news show), Game Sauce (fun British game reviews), and X-Play. Morgan Webb's been acting a lot less obnoxious in recent episodes of that show... either that or I've gained a whole new respect for her after watching Tallarico.

Except for Pulse.. I noticed they canned the chick Ronilyn Reilly during the big move!! Gawdammit.. now they have just 2 guys there. I don't know about you guys but I kind of dug that chick, especially her tatas :(

The best shows on G4techtv are
X-Play
Icons
Pulse

Other good shows:
Filter
G4tv.com
Judgement Day and Electric Playground (even though Tommy Tallarico is an idiot)

If there is nothing else on, these shows are decent enough to watch
Cinematech
Arena
Unscrewed with Martin Sargent

The rest of the shows stink, especially
Sweat
Players
Portal

I dont think they show Starcade anymore, which stinks.
