I have two, Volume 2, No.1 and one other that I can't remember.

I'm trying to find them all the NES ones, anyone know what the #'s are?

Are they rare? Where might I find some?

Thanks!

You mean like newsletters? I've never seen any of those, though I've heard stories.

I know they did two codebooks apiece for both the NES and the Genesis (the original and a later "Update") - not sure if there was more than one for the SNES or the Game Boy, though.

If all you want is codes, Google up "Game Genie" along with the system name and you'll get everything you ever wanted. As far as the collecting aspect goes - no idea.

Anyone else? :)

I'm not sure how rare they are, but I have the following:

Genesis 1.3
NES 1.2 and 2.1
SNES 1.1 and 1.4

They are somewhat difficult to find but I don't think they go for allot of money. Maybe $20 for a complete set but it's been a while since I checked prices. Anyone know? I've got a couple complete sets of the NES update books. Did they also do update books for all the other Genies?

I lucked out at a pawn shop and found a good chunk of NES Game Genie stuff, including the Game Genie itself, a light blue carrying case, and five books.

Two of the books are very thick, so I don't think they were updates... one of them has a blue cover with the red, pixellated "Game Genie guy". There's a white triangle on the right hand side that says "Codebook with Instructions" in english and french (all of this stuff is bilingual). This book has a copyright of 1990. I'm guessing this is the book that came with the Game Genie. This book has 154 pages (probably twice the size of the American version, due to the french content).

The other thick book is white with a red figure wearing a blue cape with fire coming out of his hands. Near the bottom it says "Works on over 290 popular video games!", and there's a yellow ellipse that claims the suggested retail price is $8.95 (CDN, I assume), so I guess this was sold seperately even though it's MUCH thicker than the normal updates. The book is copyright 1991, and is 245 pages.

I also have three white update books, volume 3, 4 and 5 (They're only labelled with a single number as far as I can tell.. the Canadian versions might contain different information). Each of the three books are 32 pages, and have the same caped figure fire the fire coming out of his hands spelling Game Genie. They're all copyright 1991.

Volume 3 features codes for Battletoads, Star Tropics, Dragon Warrior II, and Total Recall.

Volume 4 features codes for G.I. Joe, Time Lord, Milon's Secret Castle, and S.C.A.T.

Volume 5 features codes for Star Wars, Tiny Tunes, T.M.N.T. 3, and Mega Man 4.

(At least, those are the games they brag about on the cover)
