This actually reminds me to ask, is Metal Slug 3 decent for the Xbox? I like the previous ones, but don't love them and was toying with the idea of picking it up at some point in the near future...
Basically, should I start saving all my money and take out a mortage to get it ;) :D
But seriously... any good?

I think MS3 is the best in the series, definitly woth picking up , I have the AES version, but I'd assume the xbox version is nice...I'd wait and get it for about $20, $40 for a scrolling shotter that years old is a bit much

I have the Xbox version, and I think it's great.
First off, the visuals and the audio are identical to the Neo-Geo version. The differences begin with the online ranking system. Because of the online ranking system, they made it so that if you continue, you restart the level you died on. A lot of people have been whining about this saying it makes the game too hard. If you ask me, the game was hard to begin with, you just don't care when you have all the credits you want and continue right where you died.
IMO, being forced to restart a level if you continue forces you to play better, which IMO is when you really enjoy the game. You have to remember the locations of all the enemies, their patterns, etc.
Regardless the game is beautiful, and has the 2 time trial stages that are in the PS2 version, but you can only play them once you beat the game. Also, once you beat a stage, you have the option of starting the game at that stage. Nice.

I totally agree. If there was unlimited continues in MS3, I would have beaten the game by now and probably never touch it again. The way it's set up forces me to keep coming back and trying to improve (finally broke 1,000,000!). If people find it too difficult to deal with, just tweak the difficulty and # of lives settings.
