Well, I have had a Nintendo Vs. tabletop for almost a year now and haven't had any luck finding monitors and a few other little parts.

I was just wondering, where do you guys get the parts you need for your cabs? Maybe there could be a sticky topic with links to varius pages.

I hear about newsgroups, but, I have no clue how to use one.

For newsgroups, a quick and easy way for a web veteran to get there is groups.google.com. It's not the fastest interface but it works. Here's a link:

rec.games.arcade.markletplace (http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&group=rec.games.video.arcade.marketplace)

Other good links:

Bob Roberts (http://www.therealbobroberts.com/)
Happ (http://www.happcontrols.com/)
Ultimarc (http://www.ultimarc.com)
Wico (http://www.wicothesource.com/.com)

There are quite a few parts links on http://www.arcaderestoration.com/ , some aimed at specific games.

Check your phone book. Look for someone that handles coin-op or vending machines. These places usually also service and stock spare arcade machine parts. I'm lucky enough to live only about three miles from a place that stocks Happ parts in large quantities. And while you're waiting for them to get your order together thay've got an awesome showroom with everything set to free play. Always a fun shopping trip, that.
