i've got a model 2 genesis with the sega cd that hooks up to the right side. i've also got a 32x hooked up and regular genesis and 32x games play fine. when i have the sega cd and genesis plugged in and turn it on the screen goes to snow for a few seconds, then black. when i have all 3 plugged in it goes straight to black. i can't get the sega cd screen to come up. the little light that says access by it never turns on, when is it supposed to come on? i've got the metal shield in between hooked up correctly, but i used a screw that is smaller than the original, but still holds the shield in place (i doubt that matters but i thought i'd mention it anyway). any help? i think this one's a gonner. :o

thanks

Well, it never hurts to take it apart and see if something is obviously wrong. As long as you can reassemble it. I have no experience taking apart Sega CDs. Sounds like the first model Sega CD. Is it?

Clean the connections between the SEGACD and the genny. The light is supposed to come on.

Could be an internal fuse on the inside, near the AC adapter plug as well.
