Is this a reliable source to buy games? If not, anyone else have any good links where i can find some NeoGeoPocket games?

The Buyrite topic comes up occassionally. They have been reported to the Better Business Bureau for their practice of listing games they don't own and accepting orders on them. They hold your money until they get the games and mail them to you. I almost used them once but I got a bad feeling about the order so I stopped half way through.

I guess just wait and see if they have it. I believe they email you if they don't. I'm not sure though. Maybe someone else with more experience with them can help. I got this from a quick google search. I'm not trying to scare you. You may not have a problem.

You should see the responses whenever someone brings up buyrite at cheapassgamer. LOL

Anyways, hope you get your stuff. Personally, I'm surprised they're still in business from everything I've heard about them.

BuyRite: Has every game in stock, ever, but won't ship them to you, ever.

Yeah, I seen someone post about BuyRite at CAG once and OH MAN it was like say "Satan Rocks" in a Christian church. Blasphemy, I hope you get your items, but with the thousands of BBB reports on them I dont know HOW they are still open either.

Yes, it is illegal. But for some reason they are still in buisness and no one seems to be doing anything about it.

Just look through the website, you'll see listings for tons of games that HAVENT EVEN BEEN RELEASED! Not preorders...CANCELLED GAMES! and for some odd reason you can order these canned games from them, have you lucked up and got a super secret stash? no. You got nothin!

Stay away from Buy Rite games, far far away.

I hope you get your order man, I really really do. Best of luck to you!

O.K. I read these boards every single day but I don't post here often (in fact I think this is my third). If there is one topic that gets my blood boiling enough to shout though, it's those sons of monkey dropping pizzle whores at Buy Rite.

And remember "If you're not buying from Buy Rite, you're not buying right" Get used to that quote as it is the only thing you will hear over and over again as you get passed from machine to machine trying in vain to get a live being (only to be told 'this is the store location, we don't deal with internet sales').

Check the BBB, as well as the customer reviews at vgstores.com and cheapassgamer.com forums and you will soon see a pattern.

I heard they once sent a guy a half eaten maggott sandwich.

And now I rest...

I had a problem with them when I went to order a GBA player for the Panisonic Q. Order went through, never received the player after a couple weeks. Called them, and they said that they were currently out of stock, though I should check back in a week (they refunded my purchase). Checked back in a week and ordered over the phone (after they reassured me that it was indeed in stock). Two weeks later, nothing. Called them again, and they said to check back in a few months. I gave up and asked for a refund. Horse shit.

Oh, and stay away from Upstate Games as well... Same issues.

I've ordered from them a few times ni the past and I've had nothing but luck getting my product. HOWEVER...... The product I ordered was always new and have just been released with little chance of doing a complete sellout (anytime soon at least). Those orderes were usually later then expected. Each time I don't get something within a reasonable amount of time, I try to track it (as you should probably do too). One of the things I did was email them to see if they know anything. I never got a response from them but did get my item about a day or two after emailing them.

I wouldn't recommend them as a first choice, far from it. I don't think I'd recommend getting older items but new and hard to sell out games would probably be ok.

Here's my advice. Cancel your check and this time order from a more reliable mail order company. Try these guys on for size:

http://www.gameliquidation.com/

A friend I trust has ordered through these guys and had been completely satisfied with them. They've got lots of stuff (the last time I checked, anyway) and the prices are more than reasonable.

Finally, never order from Buy Rite again. In fact, try to erase all memories of them from your mind. Buy Rite is the biggest bunch of scammers since the fall of that other mail order company, Pleasant Valley Video. In fact, they're so hated that a small army of dissatisfied customers are planning to stage a coup and assassinate the owner of the company, just so they can finally get the games they've ordered years ago.*

* I'm kidding! Sort of.

I would just call the phone number on their site (get your order information and whatever else ready). Be sure to stick it to them on how dissatisfied you are. Not that it would affect them in any way since I'm sure that they are used to it by now.

I have to chime in on ByWrong as well. I placed an order with them about 2 months ago. THey had a big sale on with some incredible prices for used games. Well I knew their history for about 8 yearts and I knew better, so I figured I would order cod so as to avoid any problems. Well never got an e-mail confirmation never got the order. Never bothered calling to check up on it either. I didn't expect it show and they proved me right.

From my experience, you have to call BuyRite to cancel an order (and then it was only a slight hassle). They will never...EVER inform you that what you are ordering is out of stock.

NEVER ORDER FROM BUY-RITE!

I placed one order for a GBASp, Ikaruga (import GC), the FreeLoader & JPN Mario 64.

The GBAsp, Ikaruga & Freeloader came, but it took about 3 months! By that time Ikaruga was already released in the US!

The Mario 64 was complete bull, they said, "its coming, it's coming" and it never came. then they said, you have a credit of the cost of that game if you would rather get something else. so I said Id think about it and called back a few weeks later to order Mario Tennis n64 with that credit, and they had no record of it! So I had to haggle with them on the phone and have them look through the records to inidicate the the original order was never completed. Finally they sent me Mario Tennis, but it took forever. And on top of that, paying with paypal is like pulling teeth.

I hate them, and that fucker on the answering machine with his ice cream truck music.

I was yeah close to ordering Magical Chase TG16 from them for $170.

First off, it's obvious that they don't have it but list it anyway- wouldn't it be sold for that price already?

Which beckons the next question, what is a good going rate for Magical Chase loose these days?
