LED's

I know this may sound like a very stupid question, but i was wondering how would you swap out old LED's for new ones in your video game systems. I never played with a soldering iron before and i would like to know what i'm doing before i jack everything up. Thanks.

I'm looking into doing a LED swap too. I found this page has a good tutorial:
