Same way I made the table (which isnt quite done yet). Make the actual item out of solid wood then hot glue the carts onto it. So it is really just being covered by carts. ;)

My best day in a loooong time!
Yesterday, a fellow forumer, icarwngs55, told me abotu Coconuts going out of business. So I got some stuff I'm pretty happy with. not much actually, but a start. (Maybe the prices will go down eventually.)
First, a copy of Qix Neo brand new still sealed and encased in plastic for $4.99 - 20% off. This is great!
Second, an Xbox Exhibition Volume 03 for $7.99 - 20%.
Third and my most happy, a used copy of DOOM for GBA in box with manual for... get this.. $14.99 MINUS FIFTY PERCENT! Total of $7.50! To hell with eBay and EB's used $30 copies without boxes. Now to find DOOM II and Duke Advance.
Then a copy of Titanic on DVD (WideScreen, natch) for $5. (Used 50% off)
Before I went to Coconuts, though I went to GameStop on a mission. To buy Zelda games. And I succeeded. Three used GBC Zelda games. Link's Awakening, Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages. I am going to be SO busy for a while. The Oracle games, I've never played. So, as NBC once said, "It's new to me!"
A very happy day I must say. I am kickass over that copy of DOOM! And it's such a well made port too!
If you have a Cocnuts in your area and don't live near me (;)) check them out, especially if you need a Console. 20% off even Consoles! Whatever's left that is.

Damn Jasoco....you know how long I have been trying to find a complete copy of Doom & Doom II? I would love to play them again. It seems like it's almost impossible to find. The other two copies they had were so much more beat up and incomplete too. This was the best one I could find out of the three. Strange thing is only the copies of DOOM were beat up, nothing else was. :o
This week it was Zelda, next week I'm thinking about going after Pokémon. ;)
Edit: Oh, and hey! A bonus, the copy of Titanic is actually new! They switched it! Neato. Best day evar!!! LOL

@_@Well, they're pretty rare being first generation GBA games and well, it's DOOM! And a damn fine port at that. Any DOOM fan would want it. I've never EVER seen it priced lower than $30. And until last year, I didn't know it existed. DOOM II is even more. Duke, well.. good luck finding that.

That reminds me of a somewhat similar experience I had a few weeks ago at a game store in the area. I was checking out a Genesis box for some EA baseball game (I forget the title) because I hadn't seen a Genesis box like that before. While the game was inside, not only did I find the manual for the game, but a stack of manuals and inserts for the five or so other boxed Genesis games in the store, plus manuals for two game gear games!

Despite my somewhat aggresive demeanor, I have a soft spot for Pokemon stuff...and picked up various types of Pokemon battle top and figure at my local Goodwill yesterday (erm, two days ago as I write this - this visit was on the 16th). I can get better NOS items at work, but I couldn't find *these* particular ones. There was a little guy at the store who told me all about who the characters were - I've forgotten who was who, though :P Also picked up some various computer books, a book on Tojo, an Asimov fiction, and a brand new Neopets. They had a bunch in the store earlier but they all disappeared save this one. Black marker on all the original stickers and over the barcode (which is under plastic)...grr. Still looks really neat, though.
There was some $5.99 computer missing the plastic from the front under the CD-ROM bay, and apparently was missing the hard drive. Couldn't tell what make of video card it had (small cheap looking board though) or what processor it had (neat blue heatsink, though, small looking processor). Had some sort of serial/something I/O board. Passed it up. The case was worthless; had no screws (which is why I could see the graphics card, though the big hole in the front case was big enough to see into) and the front cover was falling off. Yay.
There's an old 1964 scale for mail that I was thinking about getting, and some other sort of interesting stuff. I'm not about to get into collecting cameras and alarm clocks, though I did see some nice retro pieces (just not nice enough). A Sharp printing calculator with no digital display that I passed up; the case was very yellowed on the outside (and the inside, which was the original color, wasn't too pretty either). It worked perfectly, as far as I could tell, and I would've bought it if it looked much newer.
I also have some more neat Pokemon stuff that I didn't have to buy; namely two "talking spoons." Good stuff.
Just writing this down for...posteriority?

I don't know why, but for some reason I really want to get into Pokémon. Even this late into the run. I have a Pokémon blanket that was my brothers, and it is very soft. He gave it to me for my collection, but I just can't put it down. It is very comfortable. I actually plan on buying every Pokémon game available in the US (Boxed or not.) and maybe going after other Poké-licensed merchandise. I don't know why. Maybe it's just my brain making up for not getting interested back in the day. (At the time, I wasn't really interested in the GB anymore as I had my new N64 to play with. Now I could probably get into these things.)
But I'll have to finish the three GB Zelda.. uh.. 4 GB Zelda's I bought in the last week first. (Original, Awakening, Oracle and Oracle. That's a lot of Zelda-ing.)

I don't go for big stuff. Just figures and handheld items. I've got a few of the Thinkchip Pokemon packs (for use with a talking Pokedex, I think, as well as a stadium). I also saw a Pokemon PC CD-ROM, red version something or other, I don't remember what it was but I obviously didn't think it was too interesting :P

I scored some stuff today at the local antique/junk barn. I also came across a Beta VCR I almost bought just because. But then I realized I wouldnt even be able to test it or use it. :) I also found a computer mouse that you use with your feet. I held back on that one too. hehe. I also arranged to get an Odyssey (the 3rd one) in the box with manuals.
-Atari 2600 (4 switch)
-APF TV Fun (Pong system)
-2 32x games in the box
-3 NES games w/ sleeve only
They also had an "Action Max" I believe. It was one of those lame interactive VCR games. It had a deck, a cheesy gun, and a red flashing light that sat on the TV to tell you when you hit something on TV. Anybody ever seen one? Are they worth anything?

Worth? nope. Action Max is one of those things that it's worth more to the person that owns it than actual value. Actual value is pretty low to the point of not worth messing with.
Me on the other hand, would love to have one Complete in Box because I have a whole collection of VHS games for it (yep, all 4 of em) and want the system to finish off the set. Anyways, this week sucked...

I forgot that the manager over at gamestop gave me the 8-bit classic GBA advertisement material that came in this week. They are very nice window clings that show Donkey Kong, Link anda fireball throwing Mario. It also has the trademark Nintendo in an oblong oval.
Hooray for me !

I went back to the movie rental outlet store tonight, now that the sale changed to "buy two, get two free". It was kind of disappointing. Almost everything I was planning to buy for the purpose of selling was gone. Not a single Mario Party left, DKC 1 and 2 gone, and others. :( Not that I mind picking up games for myself, but I could really use some cash (to buy more games >) ). I ended up buying:
For N64:
Quake 2 (boyfriend wanted a FPS for some reason)
Blast Corps
Banjo-Tooie x 2
For NES:
Adventures in the Magic Kingdom (had no idea this was an R5, pretty cool)
Duck Tales
Superman
Who Framed Roger Rabbit
Vice Project Doom
RoadBlasters
Spy Hunter
And a Prima guide on The World is Not Enough (boyfriend's been playing it lately).
All loose, and all for a total of 17.94 plus tax. Some good stuff for sure, but the duplicate Banjo is the only sale fodder I got. :/ They recently got in a big stack of guides all for 1.99. I should look into the values for them. o_O This sale is going to continue for quite awhile, so hopefully they'll get in lots of new cool stuff soon. :)

Megaman X2 for SNES loose, but I had the box and manual at home.
Soul Caliber for Dreamcast
Final Fantasy X
And Ribbit King for Gamecube.
I was pretty stoked about Megaman X2 :D
Which store did you find Megaman X2 at Cap? Is it the one out at avondale? I was out there the other day and didn't see that. It says they have a copy of splatterhouse 2 there but I can't find it at ALL. I want that game bad cause I have the box and manual for it and I love the game, but it seems to be the IMPOSSIBLE find. Found 3 though, heh.

This week I found Legend of Dragoon, Final Fantasy Tactics and Parasite Eve II at a pawn shop for $5 each. I'd seen them there last week but the lady who owns them said she was holding them for someone. I came back a couple of days ago and they hadn't came back, so I got her to get them out for me. I also saw Ephemeral Phantasia there for $15, but the box and manual were a little rougher than I'd like.
The day before that I bought Virtual Hydlide, complete and most likely hardly played, at a game store for $5. I also bought Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon for Xbox at my local comic book store for $15.
Not a great find but I needed one.
For $10.00:
Genesis w/3 controllers
came with Sonic Classics, Space Harrier II, Power Rangers, and about 6-7 other sport type games that have been tossed into my garage sale pile.
Plus a surprise bonus, Conker's Pocket Tales for GBC in the bottom of the box.

GBC:
Project S-11 -6 bucks
N64:
WWF No Mercy boxed-9 bucks
Game Boy, carry case, plus Kirby's Pinball, Aleeyway, and Fist of the North Star-8 bucks
Pretty good, even if No mercy's manual is a bit ratty.

But they also said they were not going to have them anymore. I think they are shipping them to Avondale today :o

How is this for a find:
4-Wheel Thunder (Complete)
MTV Skateboarding (Complete)
My friend had 2 DC games he got from another friend, and said that they didn't work. Now I know how much they are worth, but the fact is that they had price tags on them that were $30 and $40 (yes, they were even, it was from a local game store).
He gave them to me because they "didn't work". Both of them worked perfect on my DC. I just got these 2 games (which somebody paid $70 for not even a year ago) for free.
