I seen contra 3 for sale that look like that. I think they were all just left over back stock. Maybe a majesco release?

Could also be a promo cart like it said in the item description.

I don't think it's a prototype... There's a used game store I visit from time to time that has a bunch of games with these types of labels. The aforementioned Contra and Jurassic Park were two of the titles I seem to recall. No boxes or books, just new carts with similar plain text labels. The DP SNES PDF lists the title as also rereleased by Majesco and mentions the same codes as written on your label. It also values it as $10.00 loose, so you didn't do too bad either way.

Not a proto, that's what happened when Majesco ran out of labels. Love to find out how they ended up distributing those though, wouldn't it suck to open up the retail box and find one of those blank labels staring at you?

Rich is right as usual. These carts that have these funky labels are just old carts that the company had and basically just rereleased them. They just printed up some bland label and stuck it on the cart.

I was under the impression that Majesco put very little work or value into their rereleases, but handwritten labels? No way! It's crazy how certain kiosk and competition carts will snag big money but others don't. Odd.

I think whoever owned the cart handwrote the codes on...the labels are mass-produced, ugly, text-only, title-only labels. This store where I saw them buys up other store's overstock sometimes...they have boxes of shrinked Saturn sports titles and other such stuff.

I've seen monopoly carts a few times with this label.

I know a guy on ebay sold a bunch of carts with this kind of label last year, I think he had 4 or 5 different games.

I'm pretty sure it's a normal cart, but open it up and see if it's a regular cart or maybe a proto (mmmmmmm) you'll need a cart Gamebit to open it!
