That looks like a fake to me.

While it doesn't look fake. Fake as in faxe cartridge. I don't see where he thinks this is worth so much. It might have been a cart sent to stores who knows. But anyone could get a stamp for what he has on the box and stamp a whole bunch of boxes. Not worth much more than a complete boxed Zelda. At least to me, unless someone can come up with some more history.

Was there ever a Nintendo Power promotion where you could get Zelda through the magazine?

I am the seller. I am not on crack - please edit that out of the thread.

I have no idea what value the item should have, but ebay had a 10 cents listing sale so I thought I would try big. There are currently 4 ebayers with the item in their watch list, so someone out there thinks it's legitimate.

I bought this item from a woman whose kids had moved away from home. The information presented in the auction is true. I am currently in the process of getting more information on the item.

It is my belief that it was probably a gift item to someone fortunate enough to tour NOA Headquarters or was given to a few dealers to promote the classic series releases. I have searched my old Nintendo Power magazines from 1989-1992 and did not find any extra information there as far as a giveaway may go, but I did not search very hard.

Even if it is 100% legit... it ain't worth that much.

HOWEVER.... if someone does grab it at that BIN. Congrads!

You know I'd REALLY like to know how some of the sellers FIND these threads sometimes!

Anyways, yeah, ummm...your not on crack? Don't know what to say really. Is a valuable item only really worth the money if other people know what it's worth as well? That's the way NES collecting seems to be like IMO.

Me too. More and more sellers seem to be comming in to defend their auctions. Are they getting bored and googling their own links?

I am the seller. I am not on crack - please edit that out of the thread. The astrocade guy took offense to being accused of being high as well. I never realized it was THAT insulting.

Seen one before don't know the story. It was a different classic series game though. Welcome to thine boards 8bitnes, a world that doesn't always add up. Consequently now, so many people won't just think you made this up like some mad scientist. Subsequently collector's are the last person in the world you want telling you what price to sell something. On an other hand collector's who are selling the item such as yourself so to speak are a safer kind of person to listen to about valueablity. There are buyers, watchers, and a lot of in bet(weeners). Even if someone convinces you that is not the way it is, just the fact that someone would have motivation to do so in the first place IS the problem. Here is a lesson for someone; you could be arms overflowing with unreleased video games and they'd be taking out your shins and scrambling after your collection like a Texas badass after a pop foul at a baseball stadium. So it's usuall par around here to be called out as fake or someone peddling counterfeit when someone else besides them got something that required to actually crawl outdoors into the daylight. Someone named Bloom once caught the tail end of the penomenon when he brought up he had Taro's Quest and could get screencaps of it, and as it happened a group started in how easily they would pick apart his phony made up photos. I use regardless to emphasize that whether or not those guys believed they were going to to see real photos faked or not that this kind of behavior is a low level doubting tactic used to stun a victim so that they might hustle him when in case his shit is real afterall.

Know why I bring it up? Well I shit you, not. That same thing happened to me; me about to catch a foul fly from The Rocket off Ichiro's bat, me watching ball thinking "shit no one's in the seats to the left right or in front of me and it's flying straight for me!@", yet jackasses from a whole other section come running over and careen into my back as the ball is smacking into my hands leading to some loudmaouth soup eating moron which shouldn't even be in the box to continually brag intermittently over the next 4-5 innings how he dove and caught it in as such that it was no lesser than deity like.

Pornoyd is teh lord of the one liners :eek 2: LOL

I have no clue but honestly I'm actually kind of glad that they do. I think that its only fair that if a person is being criticized or insulted that they have the right to defend themselves.

Yeah, I'm not saying I wish they didn't, I'm glad they do cause it clears a lot up. As long as the scam auction listers dont find there way here it's all good....then agian, that may be fun!

Hey Eric,

Good luck on the zelda auction. It's an interesting item.

Thanks to everyone for their support, advice, criticism, jokes, etc..

I have lowered the price to more reasonable level (maybe I've come down from my night of smoking crack and realized things were a little high:D).

Of note about that holo-sleeve, I got one in my copy of Kirby's Adventure years ago. Probably not limited to just the classic series but other late release titles as well.

I think you're kind of exaggerating about the game's rarity, there's no telling how many boxed copies of grey Zelda slipped under the radar on ebay with that promotional stamp. Justified as a seller though, milk it for all it is worth. :D
