I'm looking for information on video game manga to hopefully make a list. Not manga made into a game but a game made into manga such as the Kirby manga series. Any information will be helpful. Hopefully some people here would be willling to translate some video game manga for the community.

The only two that come to my mind right now are the Skies of Arcadia (http://www.geocities.com/theblacktower.geo/left.html) and the Terranigma Manga.
I'm not absolutly sure what was first though.

I'm looking for more official things and those Skies of Arcadia stories are doshinji but thanks for Terranigma. I'm making a list right now of official manga that should be done within a week.

Japanese or English? I'm only into Japanese manga, and good God is there a lot... If a game is well-liked at all, it's pretty much guaranteed to have at least one manga. And for the semi-popular stuff, expect dozens... and for the extremely popular stuff... 100+, easily. I honestly feel bad for Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest collectors. o_O There's just TOO FRICKIN' MUCH. I already have dozens myself (just related to the Star Ocean series and Valkyrie Profile). I collect stuff related to the Wonder Project J series, which is really obscure and low-profile even in Japan, and that series even has a few comics.

One thing to take note is that the more recent a game is, the more comics it tends to have. Game manga, like game soundtracks, didn't really catch on in Japan until around the mid 90s. Enix is probably the biggest publisher of game related comics in Japan (and most of what they publish AREN'T related to Enix titles, although Enix-published titles seem to get special treatment in that their games tend to get more books than the others, such as the aforementioned Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile).

If you want to know if a specific game or series got any manga, just ask away. I'll likely know. Some examples (just off the top of my head):

Mario, Zelda, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Star Fox, Kirby, Metroid, Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Star Ocean, Tales of Destiny/Eternia, Breath of Fire, Street Fighter, Mega Man, Persona, Xenogears/saga, Suikoden, Valkyrie Profile, Bust-a-Groove, Wonder Project J, Angelique, Disgaea, Grandia, King of Fighters, Tekken, etc. etc.

Virtua Fighter Cyber Generation... not even out yet, and they made a manga of it.

Indeed. Blasted FFXI (or is that FFXII now? Heh) mithra stuff all over, including girls-with, ahem, and Ragnarok Online fanart is all over the place. Like the day after those games came out, it seemed...I assume you folks are looking for, ah, higher quality, hopefully semi-official stuff, but I'd guess that whatever's got the deviant hentai artists busy has seen a fan manga or two by now, and maybe an official work or two before the show.

That VF Cyber Generation manga - that's a promo work, right?

It seems to me - though I admit that my "methodology" is suspect in the extreme, just ask DavidBrit - that a lot, perhaps most of the doujinshi (correct term usage?) out there isn't "official work." I'd also guess that for a less popular (in the grand scheme of things) series - even one as big as Konami's Dracula can fall in this category - has fan-published doujins far outnumbering official ones, assuming the characters are half interesting or at least converted into yuri/yaoi couples with relative ease ;)

There's a publisher named 4Koma? o_O You sure you're not getting confused with the type of comic?

I don't know if your just looking for u.s or japanese release. Though searching threw my room i came across tales of destiny (gfc) and valkyrie profile (?). Tokyo pop is also translating the suikoden 3 manga. I hope that help you.

I'm pretty sure that 4koma is the publisher. I know about most of the manga that you guys listed but just haven't gotten around to putting it into the list.

Edit: http://lunar-seal.net/chaos/4koma.html
That means all the 4koma manga are unknown publishers unless 4koma is also the publisher.

I only know of 4koma as a style (typically you'll only see three types of manga, the main story series based on the game, collections of short stories, and 4koma gag comics). You got some pictures of these comics? I can't really make the call considering I only buy comics published by Enix, so I'm not aware of every other publisher out there. However, if I see the back or spine, I could probably pick out the publisher.

The Kunio manga I have listed the publisher is Action Comics for example. Looking for publishers on 4koma manga just takes a little bit of time.

You can actually go to your local book store and pick up the Suikoden III manga, thanks to Tokyo Pop.

Also, Star Ocean: Second Story has a manga series as well as Valkyrie Profile. Also, the Suikoden series in general has a shit load of manga books, most of which are short SD stories.

OH! Star Ocean Till the End of Time has a manga series. Eep eep. So does Xenosaga.

Earthbound. I found a few translated strips somewhere on an Earthbound fan site a few years back. (They're actually quite amusing.)

I tried to see some of the Earthbound manga but the site was old and I didn't get to see them.

Eh? The links here (http://starmen.net/manga/) work perfectly.

Lots of untranslated stuff here (http://starmen.net/merchandise/manga/).

I think the manga was called Paula's Dad and the site hadn't been updated since 2001. Thanks for all the titles people.
