This might belong in Arcade Alley but it was a good score so I figured I could tell the larger DP world.

Just got back from a completely impulse trip to Goodwill and managed to bag an original Atari Lunar Lander (http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=L&game_id=8465) cab for only $20.

:rocker:  @_@

The power supply doesn't appear to be working, but I think I've got a spare that will work. Docs wise, It came with the schematic and the Wells-Gardner color vector display manual. The side art, marquee and control panel all look great. Even if I can't get it working I can always part it out.

Got to tell the wife to not go shopping for Father's Day as I think this will do just nicely :D

No pics yet, hence the KLOV link. Have to wait until tomorrow when my brother can help me haul it home with his truck. If someone can assist with pic hosting please PM me. Thanks.

Wow! I've seen alot of questionable "Find of The Year" posts on this board, but yours is a true contender. Nice find.

I assume that you're talking about me, being that you were a real dick to me when I posted mine.

Either way, good find, I guess it doesn't really count as a find if a friend offers it to you...you know....like mine.

He could have also ment that one guy that had that stuff that wasn't real impressive, hence why I've forgtton both his name and what he had found. :P

Anyway wow a cab for $20... o.O That IS impressive.

Must we jump to assumptions here? It seems that every week we have a "Find of the Year" post that turns out to be a Chrono Trigger cart with marker all over it for $10. That's the problem. Regardless of the means behind your big score, I don't think anyone ever questioned the magnitude of the score. Sheesh. The drama around here is reaching neo-geo.com forum levels.

Meanwhile, Lunar Lander rules and that is one AWESOME find. Congrats!

Well, when he said "questionable" it kinda tipped it off that it wasn't a "chrono trigger" style find. Either way, whatever, shit happens.

I'll play nice.

Ones find of the year might not be someone elses find of the year. It is all relative. Who are we to say that it is/isnt the find of the year for that person.

No shit, I just picked up Battleclash for SNES complete with everything for 1.99 out of the blue at Goodwill. Now for me, I could say it's my find of the year(so far) because its the first boxed SNES game I found since I sold all mine when I was young. (shut up, we all gotta start somewhere again :)

I could buy lots of games from the fleas at the market but there isnt any games currently that Im desperately searching for, but to just see one all alone hiding in the corner in a box is awesome.

So I back Cmosfm and Pantechnicon on thier finds of the year, along with everyone else's too.

Who cares who gets the best find of the year?

I am going to say man that is extremely kick ass. I wish I had ONE Arcade cab! I also wish I would find one in a goodwill, lol, cause it would be bought. I passed on a douible dragon 2 machine in perfect shape for 65 bucks at a pawn shop near me once. WHY!?! Back at the time I just had no way to transport it and said forget it.

what? Werent you the one that got the neo geo and all that other stuff from a freind for helping him sell stuff? Who cares who ripped on you for that, that has to be the best find of the year. Its still a find, ebay, friend, goodwill, its all the same. But great find for you too!!!

Yikes. I didn't realize this thread would kick up so much heat. For the record, I'm not trying to say that this is the find of the year for the whole board, let alone the best.find.ever. This is simply the best personal acquisiton (emphasis on personal) I have found thus far in 2004.

Props to all y'all who got your own great finds, too, whatever they may be. Got about 12 hours before I pick up the cab so I'll try and get some pics as soon as I can.

It shouldn't have. Wasn't your fault.

But yeah, my eyes fell out of my head when I read your post. VERY nice.

It's a Pac-Man that was turned into a Ms. Pac-Man. That one works except for the monitor. There's a better pic of it in the Arcade Alley thread where we post pics of our cabs.

i hate living in new hampshire. All flea markets are antique-only deals, goodwill stores only carry clothes, and the pawn shops only have newer games :(

good find tho
