Hooray, finally I can start one of those :)

There's this big flea market like three or four times a year in town, last time I went they didn't have much of interest, but this time was very cool, lots of different systems covered (boxed 6-switch Atari 2600, boxed C64 etc). Unfortunately, I don't own a DP guide, so no way to tell if there was anything of value amongst all that stuff :/ Anyway, this is what I got:

C64C with dustcover - 5€ (no cables and all, but turned out it actually works, yay :)

VC4000 games 5€ each, all boxed complete:
Car Races
Paddle Games
Intelligence I
Air/Sea Battle
+ a VC4000 console with garbled video output for free

Only thing I got after massive yard saling was Blue Brothers 2000 (n64) for 5.00

Today sucked

And the friggin unbelievable find:

2 ARCADE CABS - $200.00 Cdn!!

Cab #1: Sega MVP, possibly dead monitor, different board inside

Cab #2: Neo Geo 6 Slot dedicated w/24" monitor, 6 games, and memory card reader! O_O Games include Burning Fight, Sengoku, and Alpha Mission 2, can't remember the others!

Garage Saleing today.... came across someone's sale who used to own a video store. So, the carts have some stickers and writing on them. But most came with Boxes and instructions too.

SNES w/ box and instructions

Contra III
Super Double Dragon
Double Dragon V
Super Punch Out
Battletoads in Battlemaniacs

and she said if i bought that she'd throw in a bag of "non-working" stuff

SNES no box - Super Mario World
NES no box
Simpsons: Bart vs. the Space Mutants
Ski or Die
Robocop
Days of Thunder
TMNT 2 The Arcade Game

and Boxes for:
Casino Kid
Black Bass
John Elway's Quarterback
Baseball Stars 2
Tetris 2
Dr. Mario
Tetris
Tecmo Super NBA Basketball

Also a NES system

Cleaned up all the cartridges and they worked fine. Hopefully the NES will after I clean that up. All of this for $14. There were a ton more SNES and Genesis games there with boxes but I didn't have any more money. If anyone needs any of the boxes i'm willing to part with them. Most have everything that came with the game. I mostly collect the games and not the boxes.

I didn't ask, I've already got a 6 switch, no box though :/ They had a couple of games for it, I recognized some (common ones) I already had, no idea about the others. Maybe I'll go there again tomorrow and see what's left :)

BIG!! Weekend of yard sales for me... it was almost rainy so we were thinking of just skipping this week. But we decided to go anyway and it was a huge haul for me. I usually don't find anything but a few NES carts, Genesis systems and the occasional SNES or PSX item. But that doesn't deter my trying... (and if I could get someone to tell me where the good flea markets are in the MA area I'd probably hit those a couple times a year... but as it stands, it's yard sales mostly).

Anyway, the only Atari related stuff I've found in 2 YEARS of searching in the wild has been 3 boxed Atari games (Warlords international version, Space Invaders and Pac Man) and a Gemini system with all hookups and those 2 funky controllers.

But this weekend it all changed! My very first stop was a neighborhood yard sale - the last guy on the block had a stack of 2 atari's (4 switch and 6 switch - more on the latter later) and a dozen carts plus some controllers (2 joysticks, 1 set of paddles). It was DUSTY as all heck, but that didn't deter me from asking. He wanted $3 for ALL of it - wasn't sure if it worked. That same guy had a super grimy Dreamcast and steering controller marked at $8 with 2 controllers and 8 games (7 of which I didn't have - most have scratches but all played). I gave him $10 for the lot and he was pleased and I was uber pleased! There was a guy behind me asking the guy if that was all the Atari stuff he had... I hope it wasn't one of you fine folk. To think, I could have missed this by seconds...

I figured that would be the end of it... my karma used for the year. But later that morning I came across another garage sale and the lady was nice enough to talk to me. She was practically giving away most of the stuff she had - just wanted to clean mostly and get it out of the house and garage. I was about to leave when I decided to ask her if she had any old video game stuff... she said she thought she did so we dug through her garage and found an Atari 2600 (4 switch) inside an organizer so it was dust free and about 30 games (including 8 I didn't have and 2 that were in better condition that ones in my collection). She said to take it, I gave her $10. On my way out, she yelled after me and her husband came out with an Atari 800XL, printer, disk drive and tape drive with hookups. They gave that to me but thought it didn't work right when they last set it up (turns out it has memory problems, but I sold it cheap with drives for spare parts to recoup my $10).

When I got home I realized that the 6 switch was a true Sunnyvale heavy sixer!

Other than one joystick, and about 6 hours of dusting and cleaning, everything worked!
