So I'm going garage saleing. I never see anything good. Lo and behold I find a Did Dug standup arcade game. Sweet condition. $50. I'm sure I could have had it for $30 no problem....

So the "in the wild" find of a lifetime, and I don't get it.....

I can't convince myself to buy the darn thing. What the heck am I going to do with it? I don't even play the games I do have. But the other part of me claims that this is a deal of a lifetime... I still have the guys phone number... I'm still contemplating.. x_x

Exactly. If you decide not to keep it, then you know at least you can resell it for decent money, and make sure it finds itself a good home. :)

Yes, it's a deal of a lifetime, buy it just for the sake of having an arcade machine. Because I'll tell you, they just look SOOO COOOOL!

If I saw a dig dug machine for $50, I'd buy it faster than you can say "Poopty peupty pants"! I buy it, even having no room in my house to put or anyway to get it there! Yep, I'm crazy.

$50 for Dig-Dug? And you didn't buy it? O_O

Why are you still sitting here reading this....go back and bag that thing! Take it from me (as per my Lunar Lander thread this week), deals like that do not come by often.

You don't happen to live in Southern California do you?

I'd buy that thing the minute I saw it. Go back and get it...NOW!

Christ man. I just bought a Stratovox machine from The Collector and that was $250. If worst comes to worst, you can always try taking out stuff inside the machine, the coin drawer, whatever, and/or get a few friends with a truck.

Not buying a Dig Dug machine for $50? Well, it would have to be in piss poor condition for ME to pass that up. Ya know.

And even if you don't fancy a game of Dig Dug, or its innards aren't working, $50 ain't a bad price to pay for a decent arcade cabinet that you could turn into a nice MAME machine. Go forth and buy ye game.

(Get ye flask? You cannot get ye flask!)

Okay, I have been thinking about it and I have'
decided this must be a prank.

I have a hard time believing anyone in america would
sell a arcade game for $ 50 in this day and age

It seems to good to be true

Oh, the decadence! LOL

I would say you could turn this cab into cash, and then have enough money to BUY a small cocktail or some such that you could then convert. If I was converting a working (or even a non-working) cab, I'd keep the boards and electronics.

At the auctions I've been to, working Dig Dug's in decent condition go for $600-$700. On eBay they go for less because people have to figure in shipping. Regardless, $50, even for a completely empty, non-working Dig Dug cabinet, would be a good deal.

Heh, this was no prank. I think someone else got it though. Tried calling but got no return phone call. I don't feel all that bad about it though.... Strangely. It was in beatiful shape. Funny thing is, he was trying to sell a PCjr for $150.

What the hell?!?! Are you on crack? You could have made at least $500 profit!!! GO see if the seller still has it!! Are you a collector or not?!?! Even if you would sell it that like a couple hundred nes games you could get with the money!!!

I can't imagine not buying something (videogame related or not) knowing that I could sell it for 10x the price the next day.

Hell, if I had an arcade machine, any arcade machine, for whatever cheap price I could get, I'd put the profits towards one that I'd like. At least it'd be money I didn't have before. Too bad all the machines I would even want are the expensive classics. Bubble Bobble, Simpsons, TMNT Arcade and Turtles in Time. Figures. Also a Crazy Taxi sit-down. Saw one at The Spaghetti Warehouse a month ago.. I want it!!! :(
