My longtime friend, the N64, won't work. It's getting power, but there's no signal coming to the tv, it seems. Yet if you wiggle the game cartridge, the screen just goes from it's normal blue to black. There's the usual audio sound that something IS happening when you turn it on(from the tv), but, nothing's coming up. I tried a different AV cable, so that's not it.

What's goin on here, and what should I do? I'm rather attached to this particular 64, since it's the first console I ever saved up money to buy myself. I may end up having to send it to nintendo, but I'd rather not, since I'd REALLY like to play this copy of no mercy I just got.

I can't really think of anything to do except give it and the game a good cleaning, but you've probably already tried that. :o

That's the weird thing, I've tried a few games, and none of em worked any different. I'm wondering if maybe the expansion pak may have come loose somehow, maybe I'll try that next.

Do you still have the jumper pak? If the problem isn't a loose expansion pak, try popping it out and putting the jumper pak in. I suppose there's always the possibility that the expansion pak crapped out. o_O

Well, when I put in the jumper pack, it worked...so I tried the expansion again, and it worked fine too. Guess it just came loose or something. Weird.
