I picked this up to hold me over until my Dew U Xbox comes in on Monday. I love how this thing is clear, but I wish there was less metal shielding inside the system since that is pretty much all that you see....I wish you could see more of the insides, but it is still a beautiful system. This will go along nicely with my black Xbox and my other one when it comes in. I only have to get one more someday and I can have a 16 player LAN tourney in my own house.
What does everyone else think about this Halo XBox?

it probably was a waste of money, but arent most of everyones collections just "wastes of money" ... i mean, look at how many games and systems some of us have, and how many of those will never get played.....most people on this site can be considered wasters of money, but oh well.....its your own decision to feel that way.

It's a very cool looking system, and I've contemplated buying one myself. Still undecided though...

the Halo disc that it comes with does lack a barcode on the back and does say Not For Resale on the front making it different than most copies of the game that people have.
also, the on disc demos are changed from the playable game demos to 3 non-interactive Halo 2 videos

I've always considered a second Xbox solely for the modding possibilities....but then I think of all the other cool shit I don't have and that makes a second Xbox seem kind of insignificant. They are awesome though, as are the DewU ones.

im considering modding my first box, because frankly, i probably dont really need 3 unmodded boxes, so getting one of them modded might not be a bad idea, but i hate the fact of changing a console from how it was originally made, so i dont know yet

I'm not really a fan of clear anymore unless it's in iMac form. That said, I do sorta like the Halo one, but still, I just like solid better. I'd have bought a solid white Xbox.. too bad they're not in the US dammit! :(

You know the metal sheilding probably is'nt that hard to remove. I would do it for the sake of asthetics.

I look the likes of the eMac as well, and the G4 is spiff.

Nah, really, it looks sweet. I think it might actually look better than it might if you could see the internals. Now if only my damn Stratovox machine will play nice and clean up well!
I wanted (still do, but not so badly) to get one of the DewU XBoxes. I might end up seeing about selling my points or something; though, because I don't think I'll have enough money - actually, I'm certain I won't have enough money to buy an XBox by the time the promotion's over, since I have a couple things coming still.

Disagree. It's only like another 20 dolalrs, comes with a game and it looks nice all lit up.
And for the record, yes, it is a waste of money, as well as all the systems and games piled up in this room....but a good waste.

I love the look of the Halo Xbox, to the point that when I bought a box, that was the one I had to get. The color scheme rocks, and I like how the LED lights up when you turn it on-way cooler then the standard one. Sure, using it all the time probably isn't helping it's collectibility, but I doubt it's a particularly rare variation.

It is a very cool system, and I might have to buy one if I am not fast to the draw on the DewU ones. I finally got 550 points, but need to goto the DewU thread to find more out.
My bro has Halo X-Box, and they are cool

Maybe it's just an individual difference, but my dad's Halo EcksBocks is a LOT louder in terms of fanning and stuff than my launch EcksBocks.

I think they're all like that..I suspect MS has a new company making fans for the xbox and they're louder. Personally I'm so used to it by now I don't notice it (after the dreamcast, EVERY console is quiet).
I think the Dew Xbox is the most hideous console yet released. It's guady to the point of perversity.
I'm not a big fan of the transparent green either (it looks just like a debug kit), but would choose that over a regular black Xbox ... mainly because the jewel is black instead of neon green.
My current favorite models are the super-LE White Japanese Orta system and the more common Crystal that's available in Europe. I wish they'd bring it here so I could buy an Xbox already. :/

I've been a sega chick all my life but the halo xbox finally drew me in to nextgen. The green color looks pretty cool in the dark and it's a welcome change from the black/grey system color that's been around forever. The Gamecube has the right idea releasing all the different colors but I like the translucent green. I'm curious to see if the dew xbox is as bright as in the pictures...that thing might glow in the dark even when it's turned off.

I think the Halo XBOX looks pretty cool, but i would rather have the Dew XBOX. I don't really like clear systems that much.

it is from the dew u contest....but, im not sure, but i think it is the same as the hulk contest box, just i received it a different way

yea, its just a summer job...but its a great job for the summer...lots of driving around wasting time and the bosses are hardly ever there so its really fun...plus the pay is pretty good

For what it is worth.
The Halo X-box is great loking. I also enjoy the duel green LED's. mine is also very loud.*Should* be limited to 200,000.

yea, the green leds are really neat looking through the clear green casing
anyone know how many of these systems were actually made??
