Ok, maybe it's not that good, but if you don't at least try this one out, your an idiot. The RPG aspects are so cool and the golfing is just so easy to get into. My only complaint so far (about 2 hours in) is that the ball travels really slow when you hit it and a full 18 takes too long. Of course, with a save system that lets you save anywhere, who cares? Better than the GBC version? Hmm....really close but I think the extra punch in the graphics and sound make this one better. Even better than the console version.

It's on sale this week at Best buy for only $24.99 and that is a steal.

I loved Mario Golf for the 64/GBC and I've been looking forward to this one. Hell, I've almost bought a GC just for Mario Golf. Glad to hear the GBA version rocks, I'll have to pick it up.

I just started my copy... it's pretty good, although I recognize some sprites from Golden Sun and that kinda bothers me.

Glad to hear. I have every Mario Golf to date and it's good to hear that Mario Golf for the GBA is just as good. Every website or mag I have read so far has given the game GREAT reviews!!!
Will be picking up later this week for sure!

well, damn! I LOVE mario golf on the N64 and the GC, so now I guess I HAVE to get a GBA. Although, I have been looking for a reason to get the game boy player for GC. Hummmm......decisions, decisions. :-P

Querjerk: It uses the same graphics engine as Golden Sun according to Gamespot's review. Probably why. I never played GS so I can't really say, but all I know is that it looks superb,

Erm... there's no "R" before the "K"...

But, anywho, I'm not surprised--the graphics greatly resembled the GS graphics, and I only played the first one for a few hours. I like the whole RPG layer, but I am having trouble deciding who I should let have the experience :/

Ok, QUERJEK (happy? :P ), give more to your doubles partner. They play like crap unless you do. Nothing worse than losing on a clutch putt because your partner is stupid.

Mario Golf Sprites = GoldenSun Sprites = Shining Force 3 sprites.

It's just Camelot's graphical style. Kinda like the little nodding/shaking head thing.

Why? Anything that reminds you of golden sun or shining force can't be bad can it?

It's not that that's bad, but at least to me, the fact that they're using the exact same sprites makes them look a little lazy in my eyes. But, hey, that's just my opinion... those sprites aren't bad still.

Ok, QUERJEK (happy? :P )
Yes :D

I am so far back logged on game playing... :(

But this one sounds like a purchase to me. :D
(even if it sits in line waiting to be played)

How does it compare to Neo Turf Masters on the NGPC? I hear "RPG element" which makes me intrigued...

I'll be picking it up this weekend, as I've been looking forward to it for a long time now. Best Buy has it for 24.99, right?

$19.99 after Gamer's Gift Card if you're really cheap :D

I've been playing this a LOT today... wow. It's so cool!

Definitely better than NTM on NGPC. The gameplay is more forgiving and there is so much more to do. The actual golf segments are pretty similar though putting, I think, is a whole lot easier here than in TM. Not to down on TM (which is definitely superb), but this one just rocks. I'm 8 hours in already because I simply can't stop playing. I bought it yesterday.

This game has truly consumed me...

I just ordered the GCN version for the sole reason of unlocking new characters...

I'll have to play this today, my sister bought it and was in love with it. Don't really know what the rpg mode or whatever is about...guess I'll find out soon enough.

OK, so for people who owned/played the GBC version, is this one different enough to warrant a purchase? From everything I've read, it sounds like a graphically enhanced version of the original with a couple more bells and whistles. I'm pretty happy with the old one, should I shell out for the new?
