I'd guess they were from a Salvation Army store by that permanet marker that reads 1-- (probably one dollar) as Goodwill usually uses red chinese pencil.

So let me get this straight, this guy wants 10 to 15 dollars for games in that type of condition?! I wouldn't pay a dollar for them.

Yeah, if the labels are in such bad state, imagine the games' romchip...
especially considering that the NES is particularly sensitive to dirty carts (for example, I have two Zelda carts. The first one is relatively dirty, giving me problems when using it; the second one is clean and works like a charm).
