I dont think they have specific prices for your games anymore , when i was adding my collection I added dracula x in , to see only 25 dollars were added to my collections value. I tested out that ign prices each game at 25 by timings the number of games I have by 25 on a calculator and whala i was right , isnt ign just gettin really lazy now?

yea, i noticed that too....whatever i add to my list adds $25 to my total value....if they have it set like that, then what is the point of even having the value thing on the site.

Lol, good point at the imbalance. Noticed this a while ago when adding stuff to my list...but it is a lot of work ya know to indiviudally update the entire database with the value of every single entered game.

What's lame is continuing to use IGN when there's much better alternatives - Fatman Games, Nintari.net, GameTZ, and even text files on your webspace...IGN's page is a waste of time, no matter if you're a serious collector who wants more ability to describe your items, or if you're just somebody who wants a quick link to your collection (use one of the three sites above for that; I'm not sure if Nintari.net has annoying popups but the other two do).

Yah they used to, cause I remember total values with like .03 cents and stuff. I was wondering why my value seemed to jump like 7 or 8 thousand recently.

But even so, IGN's value of games is based on IGN gamestore pricing, aka Gamestop retail prices. So not everything has a price, and lots of prices are unjustly inflated.

IGN is a decent lister tool, not a value determiner.

Yea, I know that nobody else but me cares about it, but IGN is the only collectorlistsitethingy that has Amiga as a platform. If you only could add missing games by yourself :/ There's also collectorz.com's GameCollector program, which isn't too bad either.

And that's why people continue to use IGN. I can't stand IGN, but annoying popups are worse.

My game list is currently on my Angelfire site. However, Angelfire has really gotten annoying lately so switching to another place is a high consideration. If those sites got rid of their annoying popups I'd use them. Might have to look into Nintari, though.

Same here, I was wondering why my value went from 37,000.00 to 47,000.00 overnight. It also makes me sad to thing they consider my Primal Rage arcade machine and Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt cart to be worth the same amount. :(

LOL

Yeah, that's why I never really took the time to put a collection up, anyway.

AngelFire has *really* gotten annoying? Wow, they already sucked horribly back in 1998... O:

Anyhow, I'd honestly have to say that GameTZ's ONE popup on loading the site (if you're not lucky) before you log in isn't bad. It's been a while since I wasn't subscribed but I don't remember it being bad. I say check it out; it won't cost you anything.

What's more, you can get a link directly to your Games Page which eliminates needless clicking and hence popups.

The thing that pissed me off was when non-subscribers could barely even have a profile, much less a list of games. I had to try to squeeze my whole profile in that little trade refrence box.

Also, you can't even use the chat room with out subscribing, which made me leave, since that was where I basicly did all my "business"

Has anyone tried using another browser which blocks popups?

I've been using Mozilla Firefox for about a year or so now and never see popups or even banner ads for that matter. Perhaps these other listing services would be more toleratable using a better browser.

We have no popups. Actually, at this point we don't even have any ads. No worries either, we don't intend to ever have popups. They annoy us, so why would we want to subject others to it?

Cheers
