I've been an on and off collector of video games, at the moment my collection is small but back in the day I had an extensive atari collection.

Lately I've wanted to get back into it. Im on some retro kick now. Hell, I even drive a 74 Ford Gran Torino, how retro is that

Anyways, aside from ebay, where else is there? Tried Goodwill and Salvation Army over the past few days and nothing but some crappy SEGA picks.... I do mean crap.

I know yard sales, but they seem kinda far and few, and haven't tried flea markets mainly bc of the weather the past few weeks.

What are some tips and getting the finds at these places? How often can they turn results? Etc.

Ebay is great, one can find most any thing there, but theres something to say about the prices. Saw a copy of one of the CD-i Zelda's going for 250$

Any tips or suggestions are welcomed.

Here's what I do. Look for stores that sell games for a flat rate like pawns. Shure most of the games will be bad deals but at flat rates youll find something good adventually.

ASK! If your at a yard sell; flea market, game store, just ask if they have any video games for sale,at home, in the back, etc.

Thats what has worked best for me!

There are several threads on this in the "Classic Discussions" page.

But the basic rule is you got to do the leg work.

If memory serves, one of the three CD-i zeldas can command ridiculous prices on the Bay, but there's a lot of times where you can snag a deal.

I'm mostly a yard sale guy, however today I'm going to the other VG collector's friend, the flea market. This will be my first flea ever so wish me luck everyone!
