Acclaim is in Glen Cove, NY, SNK is in Wall, NJ & Majesco is in Edison, NJ

There are a couple of other smaller developers in the NY/NJ region but I can't think of them off hand.

I can't name them all of the top of my head but alot of game companies are based in the north east. EA and ubi-soft also have locations in canada. Plus theirs even a new video game based college in vermont.

Yes, there are several famous ones and probably quite a few less-famous ones:

-Turbine Entertainment (maker of Asheron's Call) is located near Boston
-Irrational Games (co-developer of System Shock 2 and Freedom Force) are also in Boston
-Firaxis Games (home of legendary designer Sid Meier) is located in Baltimore
-Rockstar Games (if you don't know who they are, shame on you - even if you don't play their games, they are somewhat infamous) is located in New York City, I believe.

There are probably others that are less well-known, but I'm not sure off the top of my head.

There used to be a lot more.....for example, Microprose was based in Maryland outside of Washington DC and Impressions (Ceaser, Lords of the Realm, etc.) was located in Cambridge, outside of Boston.

I'm sure there are a mess of others, just I'm drawing a blank right now.

I want to say that Atari (at least when it was Infogrames) had a office in New York state.

I wish some of those guys would come to NC, although I'd fight Ding Chavez himself for a chance to work at Red Storm. There have only been a couple other small ones in this area that I'm aware of, including Southpeak Interactive. :(
