In another post I'm explaining to people how I'm playing my Video Games on a 120 inch screen, and how it's a absolutely incredible experience.
Well, some of the people would like to see some pics.
I took some pics of my Theater last night, and I would love to get them up on here, but I don't know how.
I don't have my own web page, or any webhosting service, so I don't know how they would be uploaded to here.
Anybody have any ideas?
Also, I can email these pics to somebody else and then they can put them up, if that is ok.

i wouldnt mind getting some help on this topic as well. I use shutterfly.com for hosting purposes (its free and pretty good for random pics you want to show someone) but i would like to be able to put the pics directly in the post.

As long as the pic requirements don't exceed theirs (size and such) this should work. I actually used it for my last avatar. Once you upload a pic, they will give you the addy for the url, tag, and img.

I've found that any time my browser is having trouble loading a few images, they're almost ALWAYS Photobucket. Hence, the site is down a LOT. I don't recommend that one for my own sanity.
DP needs a way to attach files. Is there a special reason they don't? I'm sure there is. But would be nice.

as long as you have the pics uploaded somewhere, they're easy to post in a thread. all you have to do is either just post the image url to link the image, or if you want the image to be viewable in the thread, then click the "img" button before and after entering the url.

try image shack.
Some say it sucks but I have no problems with it. Else, find someone you know that might have webspace.

Yeah I dig photobucket. It may be down occasionally, but hey... it's free. Works most of the time.

Must have it on a server.
Well..
Me, I have my website on my Mac. Cable is da shiz-nit. So, in that case, yes, you can have it on your computer! ;)
[/bragging]
So get yourself Cable. Get yourself a way to set up a personal web server. Get yourself an easy to remember URL and viola.
Of course, that all depends on if your cable/DSL/whatever ISP company actually ALLOWS you to do this sort of stuff. If Comcast ever decided to stop allowing me to do it, I'd be screwed.
I have a Router, a computer connected to the router.
The house, or rather Modem in the house has an IP address.
In this case, it's 68.84.34.213.
The router assigns each computer its own subnet IP address.
In this case, it's 192.168.1.105. (Heather.local: 333MHz G3 iMac)
On my router, I have Forwarding set to redirect HTTP and FTP to 105 which is the G3 iMac.
Then I set up a free (Well, I paid the $12.95 for permanent address and benefits.) www.no-ip.com account. This site allows someone to type in your URL, it'll redirect to wherever you want it (In this case, my home IP - 68.84.34.213).
So basically, typuing jasoco.no-ip.com redirects to 68.84.34.213 which reditrects through my router to 192.168.1.105. It's actually simple.
But still, it relies on you being able to do serving through your ISP.
