I've seen the adapters that allow you to play GBA games on a GC. Is there an adapter that would allow you to bypass the GC and go straight to the tv?

The TV De Advance lets you hook a GBA directly into a TV, but its unlicensed and I've never tried one. If you want one, look at ncsx.com or some other sites that sell that kind of stuff.

There are kits that allow you to use a GBA straight on the TV, but I haven't heard good things things about them, and most of them require you to do lots of soldering.

I bought the second unlicensed GBA-TV adaptor that was released, in late 2002. One company made one, then another company made one, and the first company tried to sue the second company... anyway, the second one according to reviewers had a better quality picture.
To me, the picture is very poor. It's acceptable, but not great. When stretched to full screen, it looks really bad, because it doesn't do a proper antialiased resize. However, by modding it to output RGB, it should be alright. I think it's just a poor NTSC renderer, likely even just a poor colourburst circuit.
