Monday Morning MAME Club [6/28/04] - Crossbow

Ok, let's wake up people! A new week means a new game, and this one's a classic. While playing this game on MAME is a little different than in the arcade, I still found it a fun experience. Be sure to enable mouse support (unless you have a light gun on your PC) -- it's much easier this way (although it's still tougher with a mouse than I remember it being with a lightgun!)

Crossbow is a game that I can't even touch in an arcade...I'm dead before the quarter hits the box. But on MAME, with the magic of the mouse...I can get through a good portion of the game. Although I'm still not good enough to go all the way yet.

I remember thinking this game was the proverbial bomb when it came out - my friends and I obsessed over everything about it, the sound, the graphics, etc., everything for a good two or three weeks. I also remember it was one of the last arcade games I was really ga-ga about in the 80s. Good stuff.

The first time I saw Crossbow was at my local skating rink when I was in 6th or 7th grade. I wasn't tall enough to play the game without skates on. Trust me, playing Crossbow while standing on wheels adds a new level of difficulty.

I don´t like this game...i found it very boring, also for 2600...
