I don't play many sports games, but I enjoy the Slugfest series and really want to buy the 2004 Gamecube version. Problem is, I can't find the damn thing anywhere! I've checked EB, Gamestop, Best Buy, Circuit City, and Walmart in my area and none of those stores have it. I figured Amazon would have it, but no, they are out of stock too.
I also checked eBay and there are only two auctions for it, and neither of them are for a complete game. Why is this game so hard to find? I mean, it IS a sports game after all.... ;)

Wow, your right. The two on eBay are already at around $20 with 5 days left, that's crazy. Maybe production was cut short on this one? I mean Midway has been cutting back on GameCube quite a bit. I'm going to have to get my hands on one of these.
But anyway, I did find a complete one on eBay though.

If you don't mind the stickers and Batman Vengeance. :P
[EDIT] Now that I think about it though, all the MLB games aren't that old. MLB Slugfest 20-04 was released March 18, 2003, which is only a few few months, although it still shouldn't be over $20...
[EDIT2] After looking through the completed items it must be a rare game. One or two managed to reach over $50, and not a single one is below $30 (besides a lucky guy who got a BIN for $21). Either way it is rare, and I had no idea, production must have been low or something. You know NCAA College Basketball 2k3 is one of the rarest games for GameCube, and thats a sports game too. ;)

Heh, yeah at first I thought to myself, "well I'll just get MLB Slugfest Loaded for PS2, that's all over the place." But now that I see that 2004 for Gamecube is so difficult to come by I'm determined to get it. :D
It figures that the first sports game in years that I acutally want to buy has to be a rare one. LOL

I've never seen it anywhere so I just assumed they weren't making it for the GameCube. Is it really much changed from 20-03? I have that one...

Redcard Soccer is even harder to find. A lot of retailers didn't accept it for sale because they already had FIFA.

2004 is much different. The new stuff includes: (Being read of the back)
Create-a-Team: Build your own powerhouse All-Star ball club.
Customizable Instant Replay: Relive towering home runs and diving catches from any angle.
Home Run Derby: Square off against the league's most feared home run hitters.
Signature batting stances an pitching motions.
"On Fire" Pitching: Shut down the offensive team to catch an extra boost.
and
Expanded and updated rosters, uniforms, and stadiums.
Does anyone know if Bases Loaded has this stuff too?

Is it just me or that I'm seeing many already rare, hard-to-find, niche sports games on the cube (at least for US):
NCAA Basketball 2003
MLB Slugfest 2004
Sage Soccer Slam (check TRU, it's hte yellow tag game but very few per store)
Virtua Strikers 2002
Beach Spikers
Disney's Sports games (all 4)
Red Card Soccer 2003
Seems like publishers make far fewer GC copies than their PS2/XB counterparts.

Beach Spikers isn't that rare. I see it all over the place.
The others, you may have a point.

Beach Spikers and SEGA Soccer Slam are not rare or worth anything.
NCAA Basketball 2k3 and MLB Slugfest are the only one's you listed worth something. While the Disney games are worth a bit there isn't too much demand for them. And Virtua Striker and Red Card are rare but no one cares for them and they arn't worth a damn.

I walked into a Gamecrazy last week and saw a Player's Choice Disney Soccer on the rack with some other PC titles. So the other Disney titles might be HTF, but Disney Soccer shouldn't be.
