I know it was that great? But I can't resist the idea of cheaply obtaining a system that was waaaaay to exspensive at launch, plus I heard it has an awesome version of Road Rash (one of my faves!). So kind folks please give me your idea's/opinions/reviews and suggestions regarding all things 3DO!
Thanks in advance as always! :D

I have one. Got it t play the 3DO version of star control 2. I think its a neat little system but like the PS1 it hasnt really aged well if graphics are your thing.

I say go for it!

If there are a few games that you want to play then it's worth the time and effort to obtain the software and hardware.

Look into getting return fire and need for speed too.

I recently bought the fz1 and I'm enjoying it quite a bit so far. Only thing, is it doesn't seem to play cdrs at all compared the the goldstar version which my friend has. The fz10 I think can play them really well too, but I'm not sure.

I own Star Control 2 and Po'ed for the system. Star Control 2 is really good and po'ed was a game I always wanted to play back in the day when I saw it in gamepro but it has not aged well, it's quite awful.

Road Rash - Great version
Escape From Monster Manor - loved this back in the day when I played it at my friend's house who had a 3do. I imagine it's rather lame today though, but I'm sure I'd love it still for the nostalgia factor.
Return Fire - Funny and fun war sim.
Alone In The Dark - classic horror game.
Killin Time - Played the demo on pc and loved it but I hear it does not hold up well today as well.
Gex - fun platformer
Dragon's Lair - this system has the nicest version of dragon's lair I've played so far.

Get the GOLDSTAR version its plays cdrs the best. But IMO has the shittyest controller. Road rash rocks (gotta love those crazy fmvs). Dragons lair is pretty good but once again my controller kills it, and gex is a prety fun platformer and its cheep too becouse it was a pack in game.

The Goldstar seems to be the most common to find, I have one and the drawer is starting to get a little sticky. I'd recommend getting the FZ-10, you know, the top-loader. In my opinion the less moving parts the better. As for games the ones that I got that I think rock are -
Gex
Killing Time
Road Rash (a must have)
Battle chess (cuz I'm a dork)
Wing Commander 3 (mark hammil's 2nd best movie haha)
Space Hulk

Just for the love of god avoid Doom at all cost! :puke:
