Meet me on VEGA BLOCK09 after 6pm EST.

I beat Falz in a solo offline game last night on HARD. Also I've started picking up SPECIAL WEAPON items so you defnitely wanna get into a game with me soon :)

Who's in? C'mon.

I dunno. The LoTR and Episode II DVDs come out today...

I just picked up my first special weapons in the caves on Hard last night. Unfortunatley they're swords that I can't use (somebodies mandible or something like that). I also picked up a Red Shield which I think you need to use techniques with so it's also useless to me. I got the frying pan weapon which is really funny to use...

I almost beat Olga Flow in episode II last night. I think I need one or two more levels (I'm at 38).

Cool! What's your character name? So far, it's been pretty easy to figure out, most forum members seem to use their forum names :) but Nynaeve threw me off the other night.

So if we haven't played together, do let us know who you'll be online! Thank ya.

MWAHAHAHA!!!

*ahem*

I did NOT, did I?? *looks confused* Maybe when my husband joined you online as Galadedred, but I thought you knew my characters?

Ah yes...that's right...we never got to play together on the DC version did we... *sigh*

My memories from that one:

I've only remade Faile for the GC version thus far, and she looks the same...but Galadedred is a FOmar now... *shrug*

I'm sensing a Wheel of Time theme here...

Not to get too far off topic, but I just checked the date on the next book and it's been pushed back to January! Darn it!! :x

I might be on later tonight, but no promises.

*confused*

Wheel of Time? What is that??

*yanks braid in aggravation*

:P

I'm only on book 6 (I think!) - I was reading the series when PSO for the Swirly came out...I'm afraid that reading about Nynaeve and Faile wasn't as interesting as playing their characters on Ragol...and now with the GC version, the hope grows dimmer. Like tonight...hmm...play PSO...read...play PSO...yeah. That's it.

I'm pretty unoriginal, so I'm K3V on PSO too :)

I know it's off topic, but why waste a whole new thread?

Is the GC any better than the DC version? I felt the forces were neglected in the late game and class balance was horriable.

How is it in the version?

Cool. Caught up with K3V, another forum member Guild Card in my pocket!

GC version is definitely better than DC. First of all, it corrects a few of the problems of the DC version (even v2), including the loss of your weapon when you die, the way you have to light up runes in 1-player, and some of the odd glitches with walking thru walls.

It adds to all of this (again, remember that all the wonderful additions of v2 are here including battle and challenge modes) the new Episode 2 levels and bosses, which are truly spectacular.

It's been a lot of fun so far! So much to do...

Mem: Forces are MUCH better now, in terms of how much damage they deal and having exclusive advantages over other classes. For example, no non-Force class (except HUnewearl) can use techniques over level 15. (HUne can use up to level 20.) Also, most non-Force characters lost the ability to use techniques like Shifta and Deband, so you need a Force in your party to cast those important spells for you.

Actually most of that was true of Dreamcast v2. Except for the blockage of spells. I noticed that my HUnewearl can't cast ANY Grants or Megid, but I do have access to Shifta and Deband (could be the "newearl" part that allows that). But Forces were taken care of in v2 IMHO.

Oh, I see. I gave Version 2 a skip, so I'm not totally up on what was different in it. I did seem to think Forces were still offensively weak in that one, though. *shrug*

It was cool playing this evening, DP...the Ruins on Hard were almost too much for me (I'm only at level 26 or so) but it was good for the experience count :)

I would've liked to play longer but the wife was bugging me about dinner. Stupid real-life getting in the way all the time!

Ah well, we'll have to do it again sometime.

It was fun - and playing at the hardest allowable level is a good way to level up. At this level I play very recklessly, as most of you here who have played with me no doubt have witnessed

But I'm a challenge mode veteran, and know how to play patiently when it really matters. For now, my personal goal is to level up so that all of the skill levels are at least open to play. I hate having things locked!

We really do need to organize an event where everyone who comes here and owns the game gets online. At the very least we should all have each other's Guild Cards.

you know I have this game for GC, and I have a BBA, but I don't think I'm gonna go online....yes it sounds stupid, but PSO is planned for xbox live, and the way I see it if I wait a little longer it will be much cheaper and I'll actually be able to comunicate with other people online

Keyboard communication is highly overrated. It's actually fun to see if you can just communicate with body language and those face balloons.

No arguments on the communication bit...GOD how frustrating is it to not be able to talk!! *pout* I've actually used my "free nights and long distance" on my cell phone to call people I've played with...which SORTA works...my cell has terrible reception at home.

BUT - how will it be cheaper? From what I understood, you not only have to pay for XBox live yearly, but for some games, like PSO, you have to add the monthly fee to that?

Or were my sources wrong yet again! *winks at Joe*

(not that it matters much, I have no XBox, and I have no BBA available in my town so I'd never buy one out of sheer stubborn disgust at Microsoft for turning its back on us poor 56K'ers)

Sure, Matthew. If that were true you wouldn't be prancing off to fight bosses while I'm waiting for you on Pioneer! :hmm:

Body language, HA! I want a keyboard, and I want it NOW.

Well the Japanese keyboard/controller hybrids can be had, but they're very pricey. The cheapest I've seen them is $70 and I'm not about to pay that much since I've already got too many keyboards lying around the house. Lik-sang or some other company needs to hack together a keyboard->GC adapter.

I love making up stupid sentences using the built-in "create a conversation" system :D
