Hi

I`ve been thinking about this topic a lot: i dont see many websites with top quality genesis information, reviews, etc. There seem to be a lot of nintendo fans websites, but does anyone know about some sites for genesis fans?

So far i`ve only seen www.genesiscollective.com which is very cool..

Any links would be highly appreciated

Thanks again! 8-)

Try this site, a great upcoming genesis site with very in-depth reviews.

naaah i dont agree...there are a lot of professional-looking nintendo sites in the web, like nintendoland.com but there are no great genesis sites...

*looks at sig...

Yea, your probably right on that one. Maybe not many good genesis only sites, but theres some decent sites with genesis/MD content-

http://segaguild.netfirms.com/

Shinforce (http://www.shinforce.com/) (of course)

surely there are more ?? And where are all the good namco sites? Namco rule too ;)

Hey Suppafly, I wouldn't mind working on one if you want to start one. I'm looking to make a sort of multi-direction info site with video games and japanese film on it just for kicks. Always good to sharpen up on the HTML.

So who needs anything other than GenesisCollective? Other than the fact it got hacked by some script kiddie...which comes at a time when I'm having a real problem actually caring anymore...<sigh>

The Genesis Collective is an awesome site. It is amazing how everything is so well organized.

i love your site it's like a bible for me I always refer to it when I see a game I haven't heard of before. However, I like some of the features and longer reviews that Sega-16 is working on. I think the GenesisCollective will always be the staple but I'd like to see more sites like Sega-16 start up.

I've been wondering what happened to that site.

That sucks that someone would destroy your work like that, Snorter.

I've been thinking of dumping PHPNuke since it has far too many features I don't use and too many security holes (essentially most every input box is an invitation for SQL insertion attacks) - I guess the twit did me a favor by deleting some of the extraneous databases. However, the Genesis database code is totally separate, designed by me, so it is safe (and backed up on my local hard drive in any case).

Maybe I should post the 32x update while I'm at it...although with Snorter 3.0 here, it will be a while before I'm awake enough to do it.

I'll second Sega-16; I think it's a great new website, and is only destined to grow bigger and better. It kinda reminds me of the good-ol-days when scores of little sites like this sprung up everywhere; the online answer to the fanzines. I'm really missing those kind of sites, although I suppose weblogs are something similar.

And, no, I'm not plugging his site just because some of my reviews are copied there. Maybe I'm just really missing the old zines. Whatever. Go check that kid's site out and bookmark it.

I'd love to see GenesisCollective be the focal point of an active Genesis/MD community - it's a fantastic resource, but the forums are always deserted :(
If I'm being honest, it could probably do with a good overhaul aswell - the content is there, but it can feel a bit clumsy with all the game info on one page - if the GameGenie codes and user comments could be on a seperate page for a start, I think it would 'feel' a lot better (and anyway, around 90% of the user comments are sub-Gamefaqs trash that detract from the overall site.)
Having said that, I totally understand that you have other priotities these days, snorter :) I'd volunteer to help if I was an html/database wizard, but my limit goes about as far as formatting my eBay auctions :o

ps - I will get those PAL scans to you, but I'm also busy changing jobs & moving house, so they may take a little while...

I think the real question is "where are all the good Game Gear sites?"

This great little back lit system that cosumed batteries as fast as I cosume Macaroni and Cheese has no great outlet. I wouild start a site but I don't know enough about the system to do it justice.

Are there any great Game Gear sites?
