Yesterday i listed a computer on ebay. It sold rather quickly.

So i recieved the end-of-auction email and sent out a hello, congrats, please pay before i die, etc etc, kind of a deal. the usual. I get this back:

Please give me a full details about this laptop and Why you selling this laptop? Does this laptop has any kind of trouble? how is LCD screen? any scratches (minor scratches is ok)? is battery included? restore cd included? any trouble with hardware? how is system overall performances? If there is any minor problem I will ignore. please reply. thanx

Second, i was pissy at this buyer because it was an auction for a lot of money. they have since paid. however i was very irate at the fact that they were potentially wasting so much of my time. from now on i guess i'll have to state PLEASE ASK ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS PRIOR TO BIDDING....

And the guy paid. And he did spend alot of money. Even tho he had asked you the questions after the bidding, you'd have wasted the same amount of time answering them had he asked them before the bidding. Don't see the big deal, as long as he did pay.

In fact, now that I think of it, he kind reminds me of the ebay Gremlin (everyone heres "hero"). Only instead of making fun of ebay sellers that he doesn't agree with he makes fun of the people who makes fun of the ebay sellers.

I'm not disputing this fact, It's just funny that people are complaining about it considering that many of the regulars here can be harassing and abusive at times themselves. This guys complaint seems to center on the fact that people here are making fun of the sellers behind their backs rather than being up front about it. The worst he seems to be doing is letting the sellers know of threads here that are related to them which really doesn't seem to be that big a deal.

One of the main differences between him and us is point of view. He believes that he's in the right by taking a stand against our harassing sellers that we don't agree with while many here believe that they're in the right because they feel that the sellers deserve it.

Either way, the reason he cares and the reason you can't say that it's "JUST FUCKING EBAY" is because he sold the item, the bidder entered a contract, he must pay. Oh fine, let's ignore him and not get the payment, it's ok...he'll just eat the 20.00+ ebay fees he already had to pay to sell this item. Thank you for your questions, and I will answer them as best I can (see end of message). HOWEVER PER EBAY'S AGREEMENT YOU ARE NOW OBLIGATED TO PURCHASE THE ITEM. Once you win an auction, the item is yours. >>>>>You should have asked your questions *before* bidding.<<<<< Anyway you owe me $525 for the laptop. You can pay via check or paypal, and I will ship as soon as payment received.

If you choose not to pay, I will lose about $25 in ebay listing fees and that will NOT make me happy. I can't afford to lose $25. In return, you will receive negative feedback and a non-paying bidder alert will be attached to your name.

I hope you will choose to pay and honor your contractual ebay obligations.

(1) Too may bidders randomly bid as though ebay is some sort of game. It's not a game. It's a CONTRACT. And these people are costing us sellers hundreds or even thousands of dollars with their careless behavior. IMHO the bidders need to learn to take their bids seriously.

(2) I'm tired of non-paying bidders wasting my time and costing me money.

(3) He wrote, "If there is any minor problem I will ignore," which indicates he's looking for an excuse to NOT pay.


My response is intended to inform the Bidder that he is bound by a contract, and I will NOT accept "I changed my mind and won't be paying" as an excuse.
