Hey guys, I have a Halleys Comet machine I picked up a few years back and its been working fine.....up til now.
Ive moved quite a few times and this cab has taken a beating, but lately when I plug it in and it powers up, all I get is:

IO error

Thats it, unplugging it and plugging it back in USED to sometimes work, same with switching the toggle swtich in the back...those both would sometimes make it boot up properly. But the last quite a few times all I get is that damn error.

Any ideas?
if you need more info, let me know.

Thanks Qbert

What have you tried so far? First thing I would try is taking off all of the edge connectors and cleaning the contacts/plugs. After that, unseat any socketed proms and reseat them. If you can usually get it to reboot after a few tries, it's probably just a bad connection somewhere on the PCB.

I haven't tried anything like that yet......basically never needed to before.
But I guess its time to learn how to, right?

If anyone can give any pointers, that would be super cool, but if not, thaanks for the point in the right direction chadtower.

I'll try poking around in there when I get back from holidays....going to BC for the weekend, leaving tonight.

Thanks guys for the tips.
