I think so. I remember hearing of the gam-boy somewhere before. It does look exactly like an SMS. Obviously it isn't really made by samsung. It could also be something crazy, though, like an atari 2600 clone put into a master system shell... you definately have peeked my interest. I'm going to look a little more throughly into this. I'll get back later if I find anything out.

This is the weirdest thing I have ever seen. Some kind of very obscure specially made computer. It looks like it's some kind of computer built inside a master system shell and that's it.

Okay, here is what I have learned so far.

It appears that sega liscenced the Master System to Samsung for release in South Korea. Samsung made a few changes, such as the name and the cartridge slot. Regular SMS games will not fit into a Gam*boy, as its cart slot is too narrow, although I suspect that gam*boy games would work on a regular SMS - there would be empty space on either side of the cartridge slot. The card games, assuming some were released in Korea, are probably identical, though. I strongly suspect you could get the Gam boy to play regular SMS games with an adaptor or even just a handsaw to remove the plastic around the cart slot.... anyway, if anyone else has thoughts, or owns one of these, or just knows something that proves me wrong, please let the world know :).

It's a legitimate licensed Korean Master System, and *is* made by Samsung. The cart slot uses the smaller Japanese Mark III/MS carts, and no amount of hacksawing will fit a Western cart in it, although a converter is probably possible. Similarly, it's not possible to play Jap/Korean games on a Western Master System.

Korea is rapidly becoming the new mecca of unusual SMS stuff, now that TecToy's Brazilian output has been pretty well covered.
There's a shed-load of pictures of Korean games & systems at SMSpower.org.
