Right now I have a modded XBOX with the Genesis emulator, Neo Genesis. Well, Neo Genesis is an amazing thing combined with a modded XBOX. You can change the video to 720P and add Tri-linear filtering, plus put it in SuperScale2x mode.

I'm telling you, when you have it like that, the image that you get is amazingly crisp and clean and about 95 percent of what you would get with a RGB signal.

But I was totally amazed by the sound of Streets of Rage 2 for the Genesis on this emulator. Oh my goodness! If you have a decent stereo with a Subwoofer, then this beat will just thump yo dam house!!! No joke. I'm telling you the beats just pound with this puppy. The sound was just amazing. Like DVD quality sound. How the hell did they do that?

Also, for some reason this is the only Genesis game where the sound just totally blows you away. It's not like this emulator makes all the Genesis games sound this good, but for some reason Streets of Rage is just out of this world in terms of sound quality for a game made way back in the early 90's.

Because it's on the XBOX it's outputted in Dolby Digital 5.1 for some reason. Usually it makes the game sound worse, and I turn it off and just play it in 2 channel sound, but on this game it is just the most amazing thing.

Of course I might be really overblowing this. It might be a situation where I just have some really good ass speakers, and if you are using cheapo Home Theater in a Box for $99 ones that you won't even notice anything.

im guessing that the sonic games and Phantasy Star IV would rock with that sound setup too :)

In all honesty, where is the fun in using ROMs anymore?

Try the Sega CD version with just standard AV cables (on the 6-in-1 disc). The music was touched up. Trust me. Also try Super C on the NES. That one actually caused my speakers to cut out on an older receiver.

Yeah, having that special way of starting threads with a "Look at ME!" title has become Anthonys staple.

My main left and right speakers are Energy C-8's. I used to work at a audio/video store and I got these for about 60 percent off. Of course a pair of them used to cost a grand. They are damn good.

Oh, I do have a Genesis. Several of them. Although I use the Genesis emulator on the XBOX alot, I still love the real Genny. I would never get rid of the real Genny because of RGB. But that's another story.

Playing Genny games on my modded XBOX is just so damn convienent.

if you are playing the roms on a PC, then there isn't much fun in it. But with a modded Xbox, you are playing the roms on your regular TV and Home Theater setup. It's just so freaking convienent. Also, there are a few tremendous advantages to playing the Genny roms on the modded XBOX. Here they are:

1. It's not on a small PC monitor in your home office/computer room. It's hooked up to your big TV and stereo setup.

2. You can have a video signal for your games that would blow the real Genesis out of the water. It's almost as good as the real Genesis hooked up to a RGB monitor. You have to go into configuration and set the video output to 1080i or 720p. You also have to turn on the XBOX filtering and put it in Tri-Linear filter mode. You also want to use video mode SuperScale2x. With all of that set, and if you have a HDTV, I"m telling you the Genesis looks fantastic. Way better than an S-Video mod.

3. Of course if you don't feel that it's "unethical" you can have every single Genesis game ever released instantally at your fingertips.

4. Save States

Obviously the big downside would be the controller. It won't be a perfect situation until somebody mods a Genny controller to work with the XBOX. But I use the controller S for XBOX and it actually works pretty damn good. The Controller S has a decent D-Pad. The buttons are still kinda weird, but at least it has a decent D-Pad.

Sure, I definitely try to title my threads in a way to gain as much attention as possible. If you don't then often your posts will simply get lost in the shuffle, and there won't be any discussion or anything about whatever it is you were talking about.

Tons of new posts are always coming in on the Video Game Forum, so I try to make my titles stand out somewhat so that they will survive for a couple of days before being totally disgarded.

Also, the length of a title for your threads on DP is incredibly short. So you have to do the best you can with a very short sentence.
