There was a feature on Amstrad in issue 4 of Retro Gamer magazine.

I have a GX 4000 myself, and also a CPC 464 plus, which can take GX carts.

Some of the GX carts sell well on eBay, but the hardware rarely does. The GX 4000 console doesn't seem to be too hard to ge hold of.

I also have Amstrads first ever "laptop" it's very heavy and has a full sized keyboard. I have an amstrad emailer plus telephone with a built in ZX spectrum emulator.

Sometimes on eBay I see an Amstrad PC with built in megadrive, they normally seem to be quite expensive.

I wouldn't pay more than £15 tops for a boxed GX4000. They're pretty common on eBay, I got mine MIB for £5 last year. It's the games that can make silly money though. I've been tracking everything on eBay since the end of last year, and there's around half a dozen games that haven't shown up at all. If/when they do, I'd expect them to get at least £50-£75, mebbe more.

Me and vintagegamecrazy submitted some info for the DP database a while back, but it doesn't seem to be online yet. Any word on this, Joe?

The MegaPC is another oddity that isn't as rare as you might first think - they pop up fairly regularly, and can fluctuate greatly in price from around £30-£150. A friend of mine got one (the 486 model) from a car-boot a couple of years back for £7.50.

Loose, you'd be lucky to get more than £5-£10 tops for most of them, although Navy Seals, Pang and Plotting are a bit rarer than the others. Like Master System/Megadrive stuff though, there's not much demand for loose GX4000 carts since they had nice, big sturdy cases.

They're not the carts from tradingpost.com, are they? They have a bunch of loose GX4000 carts for £7.99 ea, but I've been told that these are ex-display copies rather than the standard release, and are slightly different to the normal ones (for example, in Pang the game starts automatically rather than letting you pick a country).

Could quite possibly be as the stock is exactly the same...
