I can not play NES or my master system on my new flat screen tv. Has anyone had this problem? How do I fix it? MY LIFE SUCKS now that I assembled a 400 game collection and just got all my systems in the mail and can not use them!

Any more info? Is the TV telling you it won't play them, or does no image at all come on the screen? Wavy image, channel 3, Tv/video button, try A/V or S-video instead of RF inputs?

You don't give enough info.. make? model? year? of the TV.
general tips:
Use the A/V cables
Come threw an old S-VHS with TBC (Time Base Correction) to a HDTV.

Any old system will play for 5 seconds then the screen goes blank for 1 second then it goes back to normal for 5 seconds. One guy at a video game store said he is hearing more about this problem with new tvs and old systems but doesn't know how to fix it.

Also the type of connection does not appear to make any difference

This didn't work either?
Still would like to know the specs on your TV.
You're not running that mode with HDTV are you? Standard 480 should work.

WE NEED MORE INFO ON YOUR TV.
ALSO, IF YOU COULD PLEASE STOP POSTING TOPICS IN ALL CAPS, THAT WOULD BE GREAT. THANKS. :)
You could also just get an older TV for your old-school gaming.

I wonder if your console output signal is too hot/ too weak? That sounds an awful lot like the noise gate type setup that most modern TVs and video eqipment have, where is the s/n ratio drops below a certain threshold, the TV will go to a blue screen (rather than snow). After a few seconds, it will display again until the threshold is reached, then cut out again. My daughter's TV does this when she leaves it on all night. You get white noise, then blue screen, then white noise, then blue screen...all night loooong....
Try this: Tune in a weak signal, and see if you get similar results. If so, then you could try running your console into a VCR or receiver as a type of signal preamp, then to the TV. If, for some reason, your consoles are too hot for your TV (hard to imagine), then you can either buy an attenuator (not an antenna!) at Radio Shack, or build your own.
Are you running in A/V mode? Is your NES blinky!? If you are running in RF mode, are you using the same RF switchbox/ transformer for both consoles? In other words, if you are trying both consoles but using the same RF box, then it's entirely possible that IT is the culprit, and is giving your TV either too weak or too noisy an RF signal, thus activating the noise gate circuitry.

Does a VCR or DVD Player work?
Recommend hooking up through a VCR if so and see how that works.
