Oh shit, my favorite NES game. I just may have to contribute this time.

EDIT: As a preemptive strike here, if you're emulating, you'll want to download the Japanese version, simply titled Gimmick!. If you insist on playing the European version, either use an actual PAL NES and TV setup, or set FCE Ultra to PAL mode. Otherwise, the menus will be all funky.

There is no justice in a world where Sunsoft no longer exists.

I've beaten it twice to get both endings and can say with certainty that getting some of those stupid treasures involved pains that defied human capability.

How much -is- the Famicom release worth, anyway?

This is a classic Famicom game, and a pity it's US release was cancelled. Sunsoft put in a lot of effort when they made this title, as it shows in the presentation, and gameplay. Despite the cute look, this game gets brutally hard at points. Particularly a lot of the boss battles.

Also to properly finish this game, you must find a treasure item hidden in each of the game's first 6 levels. If you get all of them, you go to a special hidden stage after stage 6, fight the real final boss and get the happy ending. Some of the treasures are a pain to get, and if you lose all your lives in a stage, you must get the treasure over again. Probably my only complaint, but it's not a big deal.

Boy do I miss the Sunsoft of the Nes days. They were at their best then, making games like this, Ufouria, and Blaster Master. After the Nes, they seemed to take a severe nosedive in a quality. It's a pity :(

Opinion: One of my favorite NES games, possibly my favorite. This game is pure fun and basically orgasmic to any Classic gaming fan. If you haven't tried this game out, then its a must. A platforming dream come true.

Platform: FCE Ultra, I'm not rich you know ;).

Progress: Beaten it.

Challenge: ^.
