Do you feel that there is anything gaming related that shouldn't be collected? Why?

the old Super Mario Bros Ice Cream bars with the Bubble Gum Nose.
I know they'd be cool to have, but you'd have to keep em in the freezer and hope the power never goes out.
Of course you can keep just the wrapper though

lsdj, nanoloop and other similar items. They may have limited productions or whatever. But they are tools created by hobbists for other hobbists to make music. Not to sit around in a collection.

The only thing I can think of that people collect that I have no fathomable interest or see a reason for is dedicated pong systems.

Any CD/DVD games from Blockbuster. Not only do the majority of the games have the classic "renter got hungry and scraped the shit out of the non-label side with a fork" marks, but that damn decal they put directly on the disc for theft protection is pure evil.

Sports games, unless it's a game you enjoyed playing back in the day, or you're going for a complete collection for a certain system. Also, it's not worth it to get every Madden game for SNES because you can.
Also, Pokemon merchandise. There's too much of that stuff rotting away at Goodwill.
And then there's the Army Men games, a franchise that shouldn't have seen a game beyond the N64 lifespan.
And lastly, SMB/Duck Hunt carts. You only need one, unless you're making bitchin' furniture like MarioAllStar2600.

Which by the way I plan on finishing up my table tommorow. 8-)
And I have a wrapper for an old Super Mario ice pop. LOL

Any edible video game related merchandise, don't they ever get rotten? I know a few Neo-Geo freaks collect SNK.
Others on the avoid list include N-Gage, sports games (unless you need to fill them to complete collection of a game library).

I'm too young for them to be nostalgic too but I think some of them look cool. Plus its the orgins of home video games how can you call that not worth collecting. :hmm:
EDIT:
plus I would rather have a Pong System than an Olsen Twin game

Well, I understand your point. I took the question more as of a what would you not collect, not what should not be collected. I've seen em in thrifts quite a bit and I just never pick em up.

Shipping Boxes for video game related stuff.
It depends on the box, actually. I would be interested in some of these from the NES era.
