After Miracke Warriors, I recomend playing a more action based rpg, Golden Axe Warrior. Good luck finding one!

Well if you haven't played/finished Phantasy Star, I think the choice is obvious :)

i played Y's on my turbo duo and was so frusterated by the final boss on the tiles in space i had to quit. i still cant see how he could be beat. PS does look like the obvious choice but how about lord of the sword?

Ys for the Sega Master System is an inferior version of the game, so you're unlikely to enjoy it more than you did the TurboDuo edition.

Though Phantasy Star would be my first choice, I'd also recommend taking a shot at Golvellius. It's kind of like The Legend of Zelda by way of The Guardian Legend, and it's fun in spite of slippery control in the overworld sequences.

lord of the sword, definitely. that game cracks me up for a number of reasons. my younger brother got a sms when it first came out, and i remember him having a hard time with some of the bosses- i suggested he write sega for help, and we put a letter together and sent it out. about 3 weeks or so later, we got a hint sheet and a nice cover letter- i think i still have that sheet here. we also got a full set of phantasy star maps and a walkthrough, but damn, those are long gone...(grrrrr) >:(

btw, the subject line is what that talking tree in the forest looks like what it should be saying (sort of an in-joke no one will understand, lol)

golvellius is great as well- much longer, and a bit more challenging in spots... :D

In his case though, coming off a heavy game like Miracle Warriors... I think a more action based rpg would be more to his liking. Though every SMS rpg is great, I seriously think he should play Golden Axe Warrior or Golvellius. Golden Axe Warrior is litterally the SMS's The Legend of Zelda and Golvellius is one of the most rewarding and fun games I've ever played. Dive into one of those two!

I agree Golden Axe Warrior is good to try after Miracle Warriors. FWIW Golden Axe Warrior has no relation to the more popular title Golden Axe.

Y's is OK but as someone said, it's washed down version. Use TG-16 version instead. And then there's Golvellious but it's rather hard. I've beaten it only once.

Finally if you're in Europe and are a fan of Ultima series, Ultima 4 might be worth checking out as it's more true to PC version than NES' Quest of Avatar.
