Let's see you had a bad day at the office and driving home fromw ork. You're angry and tired and decide to loose yourself playing video games before making dinner. You decide to play something to vent your frustrations of the day...what do you play?

I bust out the maraca controllers and play Samba de Amigo all night and usually end up forgetting to eat (as in most nights)

Depending on what system you prefer : After a hard day I would
choose something mindless!

NES - Contra - nothing like blowing up practically everything in site to release some tension.

PS2 - GTA3 - bar none best stress reliever - hijack a car run over some innocent bystanders and then have a shoot out with the cops..ahhhh very relaxing

GameCube - tough call - not too much out there.

Dreamcast - Soul Calibur- hot chicks that can kick ass. The graphics still amaze me.

XBOX - don't own one so I am not too sure

N64 - Beetle Adventure Racing - sometimes a racing game is all you need. Cute little beetle bugs , mindless and fun

Well hope that helps

For me it's usually GTA or Perfect Dark...and then I keep playing and forget to eat.

Cel Damage on Gamecube. Nothing beats the frustration better than sending a seeking missle after your victims or sprinkling some grenades right on the weapon powerup area to blow up anyone seeking weapons. Of course I got to remember not to throw my Wavebird in frustration because it's not connected to anything!

Mad maestro is very non aggravating, and the william tell overture is great for really pounding on those buttons. Makes the thumb a little sore tho...

I break out GTA III. Only using a flamethrower and a taxi, I see how many "good guys" I can dust off in 20 minutes...I've given up trying to finish the game, still only 9% through...

Grand Theft Auto 3, but that answer is too easy. Let's see, what else.....

-Gunstar Heroes. Blowing up everything in sight IS relaxing.
-Mario's Picross. Almost hypnotic...
-A 2D fighter, probably on training mode.
-Tony Hawk 3. Free skate!

Halo. Nothing like strapping a plasma grenade to a marine, and watching him fly.

Just about any shooter works for me. Lately I've found that Giga Wing 1 & 2 and Mars Matrix work especially well when I'm frustrated with something.

Don't ask me why... it's pretty weird.... but Tiny Toon Adventures for the NES always relaxs me. I think it's because my friend used to get really frustrated at it and I didn't, and the game always reminds me of a certain period of my life that I enjyed.

Usually Mad Maestro or Gatroo Man. They always seem to calm me down. If I'm looking for a violent game I'd bust out State of Emergancy just for the mass killing factor.

I'd play Doom or Halo. If I can't get to those at the momment, I'll pull out zelda: OoT and beat the crap out of one of those stones things.

Nothing better than Die Hard Arcade for Saturn.

After that you'll get even more pissed and go out to kill somebody.

I would do the same eventually you'd have to take on as many cops wait for them to bring on the armored truck and uzi's... Only I think it started to effect me in a sort of desensitized way because I had a couple of weird gta-ish dreams so I stopped going on rampages.

The ones I usually use are Vigilante 8 for the N64 and Mario Kart Double Dash.

As its title suggests, Chiller. Ah, the screams!

When I owned my Sega CD--Mortal Kombat--I'd set the options so I could simply pummel my opponent.

On Saturn: Duke Nukem with the god code turned on, rail gun as the active weapon and the button taped down.

Dreamcast: Dead or Alive 2: Kasumi's moves can calm anyone.

Xbox-Dead Or Alive Ultimate

As its title suggests, Chiller. Ah, the screams!

That's the shooter game, where you blast prisoners to bloody bits, correct?

I usually go the opposite way: Pilotwings, Ecco something where I can just relax and cruise around, even Crazy taxi on a ten minute free ride.

Anything where i can blow shit up.

But the usual suspects are:

Vice City
&
Serious Sam

So much relief comes from using a mini-gun :D

I usually just play whatever game I'm trying to complete at the moment. For me it's relaxing to play a game and progress through the story, it gives me a sense of accomplishment.

Other things I do to vent is read comics and work on my own strips.

For me, it's always Natural Selection (mod for Half Life), and choose the Combat mode (as opposed to Classic). That way it's not as frustrating if you "lose" - Classic is more of a 30-60 minute game where if you lose, you just lost a long round. Combat rounds are shorter.

There's nothing like blowing up other people in virtual worlds to take the edge off a high-strung day

Sonic Blast Man (Arcade) is the perfect game to play when you're pissed off at the world.

Any game is a good way to vent frustration, but when I really want to bust out the whooping stick I'll go for a fighter game like Soul Calibur II 'n Super Smash Bros. Melee, or a shooter like Galaga '90 'n Donkey Kong 3, or any platformer from the Mega Man or Mega Man X (through SNES + Saturn) series.

Whenever I need to vent some anger, I'll usually play a good beat em' up like Streets of Rage or Final Fight. Nothing calms the nerves like beating the living hell out of anyone who crosses your path! :D

When i want to beat someone up in games, It''l be Burnout 3. There is nothing like running your opponents off of the road, into the pond.

And when i want to relax, it could be Any game that i own, as long as it isn't a BNEW/Minty game that i don't want to use.

Any of the GTA games(PS2)
Marvel vs Capcom 2(DC)
Shenmue(DC) I find this game to be very relaxing
Forza Motorsport(Xbox) for the same reason as above
Halo 2(Xbox)
Rez(DC)
THPS2(DC)
Worms: Armageddon(DC)
Toy Commander(DC)
Unreal Tournament(DC)

I guess you could say I have a big list of games to "Relax" with after work. LOL

Katamari Damacy. Nothing says zen gaming like Katamari Damacy. Except maybe Rez.

Actually when I'm hyper pissed, I'll play Kung Fu Kid (SMS). Seriously. I played that game a lot as a kid and I've beaten it so many times that its like a digital security blanket now. It doesn't matter how screwed up I am when I start, 20 minutes later I'm watching the ending and all is right with the world.
