This has probably been asked before and if it has please direct me properly.
I was wonering how you all keep your PS2, laying on it's side or verticly?
I've heard of people having probs standing the system up.
I'm asking this ? because I'm running out of room! And i am considering buying a PS2 stand to free up some space.

Thanks

I just have it flat. I wouldn't want to drop the cd/dvd by trying to put it in on it's side.

Vertically, with none of that damned Vertical Stand for $14.

I keep mine vertical with the stand. It has been like that for over a year now and I've never had a problem. It frees up quite a bit of room and I like it better than stacking something like my N64 on top of it just to save a tiny bit more space.

Amen to that. I dont understand the stand. It stands up correctly without the stand.

The stand makes the footprint of the cosole larger, so its harder to knock over. Not really necessary if you're a careful person.

I put my first one standing up. After it died, I laid my second one down. No problems yet :)

It lays on top of my Super VHS VCR. I tape the games as I play, and then view them later (the story parts).

Thanks all.
I'm going veticle, with no damn stand!
When I bought my PS2 at Best Buy I also purchased the 3yr extended warrenty, so if it shits it self, it goes back.

thanks again for the input I-N-P-U-T, sorry, O_O saw that movie the other day!

I guess? I just enjoy watching the story again. I took Final Fantasy 10 and edited it into a 4-hour movie!

i leave mine laying flat....i have the space on a shelve under my tv which has doors, so it keeps some of the dust of it, and the 3 other consoles that are under there

The firstgen-PS2 of someone I know actually destroyed some Games when sitting vertical after 2 years of use - just a warning :)

I think the main problem with the "vertical hurts it" MYTH is that everyone got their brand new first gen PS2, put it vertical for 1-2 years, it broke, and they bought a new 5th gen one, put it laying down, and it magically worked forever, so it MUST have been the vertical that killed it.

Problem with that is, it wasn't the vertical that hurt it, it was the release-day system POS that failed.

Put it however you want it, I've had my second PS2 vertical for over 2-3 years now and it's working flawlessly. My first gen PS2 was about 50/50 (vert horiz) and broke when everyone elses did.
