Only this time, it's in England! Anyone care to bet against the pound/dollar exchange rate currently? :P

What's funny is that the same guy is also auctioning off an Atari 2600 Pac-man cart.

Look who is buying it! BuyAtari! I am not one bit suprised. That guy has one insane collection. That cart looks really beat up but with a game like that it just doesn't matter.

Mostly likely because of the potential fees and no protection against people charging back against his account once the item was sent out. If it hadn't been spotted I may well have gone for it if the price stayed low, but now it's gone too high, then might as well publicise it ;)

But for a rare item like this, I would'nt want to pay any other way BUT PayPal! It's my only protection that he actually sends it and it's not a fake.

Did anyone notice this in the auction:
a small book called "Insider's guide to the nwc"
That has to add to the value.

There are 3rd party companies that escrow things like this. MOST sellers don't mind them assuming they are bright enough to understand the concept and the buyer pays all fees, so PayPal is not your only protection.
I have one of those guides. No cart though :(

This would make #2 for buyatari. Fine by me, if I can ever save up the cash to buy one off of him. ;)

I've got a guide too, and the NWC Semi Finalist hat somewhere. I was actually at the 1990 Powerfest in Denver, Colorado (living on Colorado Springs at the time). Forced my mother to take me and my brother. It was awesome, I got to play Mega Man 3 and Castlevania 3. Those two games were worth the trip by themselves. I also remember Nintendo pimping those Super Mario jelly-fruit snack things pretty hard. Something about a Mario dance party thing comes to mind too. I believe we avoided that Kiosk like the plague.
In the tourney I played in the 12-17 age group (I was twelve) and made it to the Semis. I recall winning a Game Boy out of the deal, but my memory is really hazy about the exact prize. I do remember playing on the stage with the throne and everything. I'm a wicked Tetris player and the announcer would keep showing my screen on the overhead and making comments about my 2 back to back Tetrises (Tetri?) in the quarters. However, I didn't make the finals for Denver because I got nervous in the Semi-Finals and blew two lives in SMB getting the 50 coins. I can play a mean game of Tetris but it's hard to come back from that.
My brother is a much better game player than I am pretty much across the board, but he stunk at Tetris. I remember him being quite upset that was one of the three we had to play. He got to the quarter finals, but couldn't make the cut on the big stage. I gave him crap because he played in the kiddie group and couldn't make the Semis. I think I was subsequently punched...
Anyway, that's my little NWC story. I may never own a cart, but I can say I've played on the real thing in the big show.

Just wondering, Does anybody have any info on Powerfest 1994' and was it just for the Snes?
Any help or a reply would be really appreciated, thanks..
(EDIT:) Sorry for going off topic, when i saw Blissfulnoise mention Powerfest 90' i just thought i'd ask about Powerfest 94'
Ok.. on topic ;)

A guy with a name like "Philip Acree" telling others to go out and get a woman. Whats your middle name.. Eugene? He just has to be speaking from experience. A real ladies man if I ever heard one.
