i bought a bunch of games from circuit city blindly, and typically only shop used stores for cheap current generation games. i was just wondering what games i might want to avoid unless they are $1. there are so many games around for the three systems that there is no way i could research them all prior to buying. i understand the old sports games are worthless, and ive been alerted that "DRAKE" for the xbox is horrendous...any others?

Well... there are plenty of bad games, and Drake's definitely one to stay away from. I've also heard that Simpsons Skateboarding is horrible. Stay away from enter the matrix as well.

Top Gear Dare Devil for PS2. The main objective in that game would be considered a minigame in others. Despite the photo of two cars racing on the cover, and the two cars racing in the intro movie, you do no racing whatsoever. You basically roam three cities collecting coins. That's it.

there seem to be just as many bad games as there are good games as there are mediocre games....so i guess the thing is to do your research, and always go to www.gametab.com if your not sure....cuz if you dont trust ONE review (and you shoulndt) its great to have a large databasse of different ones...

Avoid all of them unless somebody here (or a game publication / website that you trust) tells you otherwise. There is too much crap out there.

That's one reason I use GameFAQ's for my reviews -- they have reviews there by readers, they have summary scored from the major sites online (IGN, GameSpot, etc.) and they have links to other sites that ALSO have reviews on it. It's a one stop place and you get both player and proffesional reviews.

I've found GameRankings (www.gamerankings.com) to be the best compendium of video game reviews around. I'll check GameFAQs for FAQs (no sh*t...) and the occasional fanboy review, but I like the professionalism AND depth of what's on GameRankings. They link to more external sources than anyone else from what I've seen ...
